Renee Nicole | 3 comments I just finished Wilkie Collins novel The Woman in White and decided this would be a good book to recommend to the group. If you are a fan of mystery novels, you'll enjoy this book. The way he commented on the misfortunes of women of that time was simply awesome. I wish I had known about this one for my capstone project in college.

Andie (thebookheap) | 208 comments Thta is a brilliant recommendation, Renee. I've never read the woman in white but I was certainly not expecting it to appear on this thread! Haha! I actually have been wanting to read a book by Wilkie Collins for a while now as well- I'll add it to my tbr :)

Jenny (genevieveholpepper) | 7 comments Whilst I was at University I read Frances Burney's Evelina. It's an epistolary novel but very much a comedy of manners. I thought the main character was just enchanting. I keep meaning to re-read it but haven't got around to it yet.
