For most of us, the background information and perspectives we use to formulate our responses to these probably comes mostly from the Internet and TV, and from current periodicals (and Easley Library has some of the latter, too). But for in-depth discussion of any issue, there's no resource like a book! In selecting books for the library, your librarians try hard to give you useful resources for understanding issues.

Here are links to some of my reviews to books we have that explore some of our ongoing controversies:
Unequal Protection: The Rise of Corporate Dominance and the Theft of Human Rights by Thom Hartmann. www.goodreads.com/review/show/158209251 .
How Wal-Mart Is Destroying America (And the World): And What You Can Do about It by Bill Quinn. www.goodreads.com/review/show/17308959 .
The Tempting of America by Robert Bork. www.goodreads.com/review/show/25812422 .
