alexander shay (alexauthorshay) Just as a warning to everyone before they read on, I would definitely consider my writing interests and preferences a bit dark and twisted, so if you're looking to write with me consider this your heads up!

Requirements:
1. I write in paragraph format. My standard is one paragraph, but can be significantly more than this if you give me lots of material to work with in return. It takes more time, but I prefer the longer posts. It helps develop the characters and plot better. No one liners.
2. I need to contribute to the plot. I don't handle it well when my rp partner is the one dictating everything that happens. I need space to contribute my own ideas as well; ideally it should be 50/50. However, if you're more the type to follow than lead, I am more than okay taking a bit more of plot control on.
3. Ongoing plot discussion is mandatory. So many rps fizzle out because someone runs out of ideas. You have to be open to talking plot points with me so we always have something on the horizon to work towards to keep the rp going.
4. You are active. You don't need to post every day. Everyone has lives, and not even I can post (or feel motivated to post) every day. But I'd appreciate the notice in advance if you know you're going to be disappearing for a week or more. Keep me up to date on your availability, and I will of course do the same.

Optional:
1. Swearing. I'm a grown up. I swear a lot. Probably too much. If you tell me you aren't comfortable with that/certain cuss words, I will happily cut back. But if you don't, I'm going to assume you're okay with them.
2. PM/Explicit scenes. I do prefer to write out the smut. I really do. But sometimes one of us might not be in the mood or whatever, so there are times where I'm open to skipping them. Certain plots*, or if you're really uncomfortable with it, I may be able to forgo the scenes entirely. But this may affect my interest over time.
*I am open to doing platonic/friendship/professional partners/asexual/etc plots, in which case PM scenes are not required.
3. Writing viewpoint. I actually prefer writing in first POV when it comes to my novels; it helps me get into my character's heads better. But for rp I generally use third, just because both of us or one of us using first can cause some confusion. However, if you're more comfortable with first person I'm more than happy to give it a try, whether it's you or me (or both) using it. Second person is something I really try to avoid using or reading.

Writing Interests
1. Genres: Contemporary/main stream, urban fantasy/paranormal, science fiction (future or contemporary, Earth or space, post-apocalypse [with some conditions]), action, horror, psychological thriller, LGBT+
2. Situations: I have a lot of them, so for details please take a look at my general list HERE and my specific list HERE. Please note just because it's listed doesn't mean I'm currently in the mood for it.
3. Worlds: I have a post-apocalyptic universe we could use to write in, in various stages after the incident depending on what you're interested in (zombies/mutants + soldiers, recovery/town building, forming new governments, evolution of a new society, cyborgs and/or aliens). **Please be aware that, while I am open to jointly creating things within this universe, it is ultimately mine so there may be things I have decided about it before writing with you that I won't want to change**

Writing Don'ts
1. Domestic/Pure Romance. I'm fine with a love story, as long as it supports everything else going on in the roleplay. Romance by itself doesn't work for me. This includes domestic family situations (parents and kids, basically their daily life and problems) and high school/university.
2. Changing Character Sexuality/Gender. If you want to write with one of my characters and you want a romance, you have to use a character compatible with their sexuality, including if they're a dom or sub or somewhere in between. This is intrinsically part of their character and I cannot change it without changing them. The same applies to their gender.
3. Fandoms. I write purely original content. Making a world up together or using one I or you have created is totally cool. But I won't use characters I've made in a universe that's made by someone else. I can do Fanfic roleplay, but only canon characters already in the universe, and this group doesn't allow that.

Miscellaneous
1. Availability. I'm attending university and I have a job, so generally I'll be on in the evenings and on the weekends, with sporadic posting throughout the day from long bus travels and work breaks (currently UTC-6; it's about 4PM for me right now).
2. Non-RP Related Chat. If you're stressing out or am curious about my life or just want to talk about some new show you found or whatever, I'm all ears. Just because we're writing doesn't mean that's all we have to do.
3. Other Interests that may have rp relevance. I'm working towards a degree in Psychology with minors in Sociology (Criminology really) + Creative Writing, so I have some knowledge from these areas. I've also heavily studied ASPD (Antisocial Personality Disorder), sociopaths, and psychopaths, genetics, biomes of the world, wolves, and sharks.
