The opinions are very divided for this one. Some loved it, some DNF it. I hope I'll like it :) .

Oh woah! :o Well I loved it! I read it in 3 days and at the time it was taking me about a week to read a book!

Gosh, I was afraid this book will be boring, but that's really not the case. It's quite entertaining and hear-griping so far :) .

Part 1 (chapter 1-11)
(view spoiler)[So, i like Gretl (like the shorter version more) and Daniel (even thought he's doing some pretty reckless stuff, trusting her so much - I'm going to blame it on the fact that he's young and inexperienced).
I think I hate her brother and I really can't understand how a sibling would not want for the other to succeed. I'm also confused regarding her relation with Kurt (he seems to want her, but not the other way around).
So, it's obvious she's going to fall in love with Daniel, the Jew, but I really don't mind and I'm quite excited to see how things will work out for them. I have a horrible feeling this is going to be a tearjerker. I really hope not, but all stories about the Nazi usually are :( .
I just hope Daniel doesn't die or gets forgotten in a concentration camp. (hide spoiler)]

Yeah I'm with you Tessa! I thought this was gonna be boring but so far I'm quite entranced. Surprised too :) lol. Especially bc I heard so many awful reviews about this. I'm still a little apprehensive, wondering if it's gonna bomb, but so far I'm intrigued.

Yeah, I'm very confused about her brother as well. Honestly, it seems a little unbelievable and silly that she has so much fear for him because he hides her clothes and pulls pranks. My brother did that to me too, and I wasn't deathly afraid of him. Don't get me wrong, her brother does seem like a cold blooded guy, but I don't understand their dynamic.

I also feel like her crush on Daniel is a little fake. I mean, she just met him and it seems like she likes him only bc she shouldn't, and she's enamored with the fact he's a Jew. I expected more from this book, honestly. It seems to be like every other book about Nazi Germany. Smh. Not impressed at this point.
