Only now I realised we have no more quick reads to add to the bookshelf for the upcoming months.
For an inspiration, you can take a look at the stories and plays we've already nominated (Quick Reads Nominated So Far), or suggest something new :)
Right now I can't think of anything, but I'll surely come up with something in the next few days.

Silly me - I remembered now that I mentioned a story The Sobbin' Women by Stephen Vincent Benét, that was a basis for Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. It is a perfect pick - a story in public domain and a movie easily available for loan or purchase.
The Wisdom of Eve would be another interesting story, on which All About Eve was based. I don't know for availability, I have it inside Adaptations: From Short Story to Big Screen.

Sounds interesting. It is easily accessible too, as it is in public domain.

Well, with no other contenders on the horizon, I think it's safe to assume these three are going to be our quick reads for the next three months :)

We lack one quick read, for December, does anyone have a suggestion?

I remember Blueberry suggested once Mama's Bank Account, that seems a nice book for holidays too. I'd like first to hear other suggestions, just in case if you are in mood for something else.

Blueberry (blueberry1) Though I would still like to read it I have been unable to get it. I could probably get it through interlibrary loan. BUT I had the movie taped on my DVR but when I changed my TV carriers I lost it also. :(

I checked on Amazon (BN is off limits for me), there's no e-book version either. If it is not so easy to find, maybe we should try something else :( We'll figure out something for sure.

Blueberry (blueberry1) Is Murder on the Orient Express too long? It is 274 pgs.

Yes, I am afraid so. Unless it is realistically a shorter book, that long only for using big font? Quick read should be max 150 pages long... I know we did put some longer books in QR section. That was usually when I had no idea how long these books were really, because of confusing paginations for them on GR.

I believe Old Yeller would be a good choice for the next Quick Read

Good suggestion, Deborah, I'll add it to our bookshelf :)
