Tracy Sillato | 2 comments Unfortunately the latest attacks are bringing more fear and hatred. Social networks are not helping since you get immediate news and peoples' comments might also include hate speech.

Journalism and writers should try to promote good deeds, acceptance and integration. I tried to do my first bit when discussing my experience as being part of the minority in my book.

Yes, the hoary beast is crawling out into the open in a big way. This is how change comes about, yes? I don't think sparring on social networks does any good either. However, for every stroke of the pen that depicts the heart and soul of marginalized populations--whether by race, gender, orientation, religion, the poor or disabled--they will be seen as having more in common with the majority than not. The world consciousness is undergoing growing pains right now. We need not be discouraged. As an author and screenwriter, I am committed to making a stand for what unites us all, and working to show how love transforms individual lives. I want to speak to the heart of my audience, whether they are mysoginists, racists, orthodox religious fanatics, or spiritual masters, sharing individual stories in a universal language that, by their depiction of paradox or contradiction, show appearances of separation to be unfounded.

Mark Bello | 10 comments We can keep writing about this (my novel, Betrayal of Justice, is a case in point) and keep talking about it. In Charlottesville, counter-protesters were wrongly criticized by the president for engaging neo-nazi organizers. I applaud the counter-protesters. Only by making these bigots 'uncomfortable' every time they march will we have any effect on their movement and their behavior. Ignoring them is what peaceful Germans did in WW II. How did that work for them and all of our parents and grandparents?

Yes! And we need to write them as well!

B.C. Dudney | 18 comments The Creative Force, Power, Being, by what ever name or language you use, cannot be limited to just the male sex!
Just as The Universally found Golden Rule of Loving others as you you are most capable of Loving Yourself, cannot apply to just self, but equally to others.
Some narrow it to just those who are like themselves, but that is a very narrow definition, and another form of selfishness and turns into a negative, because it limits and isolates the Holiness = Wholeness of Love.

It is included in the Prophecy of "Equality" because it applys to all, in the most creative sense!
THE PROPHECY OF “EQUALITY”

The practice of inequality and unfair hoarding of profits, most created by workers and consumers, are needed for the people’s needs and not just used for a few, or in power wars as for hundreds of years now! Maybe why I was shown God’s Hand at five years old, and not another such sign for over 25 years when given just the One Word of “Equality”.

“Equality” means people, regardless of their sex or race have Equal Rights. Also called The Golden Rule: to treat each other with Equal Respect and Concern!
Males in control when writing scriptures, hid the feminine nature of God with Patriarchal languages using only male nouns or pronouns to limit God, creating a form of idolatry. Yet the first and official Priestly version in Genesis 1:27, and the third Creation story beginning in Chapter 5:1, tell us male and female were both created in the God’s Image.
In the Aramaic language spoken in Jesus time. “ABBA” for God meant “Our Heavenly Parent” (AB for Dad and BA for Mom), and not just a “Father”. (Gotten in Old City of Jerusalem Armenian Monastery Library, from oldest Aramaic definition of "ABBA" the language of the people in Jesus's time.)

Within Christian Churches Pope Francis could help most to end discrimination, especially for the female half, and be an example to ending inequality in our world. Clearly stated since Vatican II, in the Pastoral Constitution, article 29+, “to end discrimination because of race or sex…as not the Will of God”.
Please share especially with His Holiness Pope Francis. May need international stamp, Vatican City State, in Rome, Italy 00120.

Mark Bello | 10 comments I think we can all try to write books that raise awareness of these issues, expose the fraudulent premises upon which these activities are based, and present positive role-models and uplifting stories that suggest viable alternatives to hate in all forms.

message 12: by B.C. (new)

B.C. Dudney | 18 comments Raising awareness so important as is policies of ending discrimination within Christianity, dependent on examples f leaders, mostly right now up to Pope Francis for the majority to benefit!

Rita Chapman | 14 comments I think the media could help enormously by decrying terrorists and criminals in general as the sad individuals they are. Names of terrorists should not be published to ensure they do not achieve any form of martyrdom.

What can we do as writers? I guess we could include more scenes where we show how nasty situations can be turned around by talking or one of the parties turning peacemaker.

An author can break or make a nation as the pen is mightier than sword.
I am loving this discussed and agree with you that awareness is the only solution. Pressurise the governments with your write ups because these are global problems and rising day by day.

message 17: by Mark (new)

Mark Bello | 10 comments Caroline: How is loving and peaceful protest effective against a brutal govenment regime or ignorant bigots shouting hate speech and running people down with cars? One thing we could certainly do lovingly and peacefully is vote for people who are absolutely opposed to this kind of division and hate. When we sit on the sidelines and watch others elect the kind of people who would fan the fires of bigotry, do we deserve what we ge?

B.C. Dudney | 18 comments One of our greatest needs to write about:

Time now to stop the inequality!
Because our present world's civil and moral imbalance needs Equal Rights, Equal Opportunity, "Equality" to counter the racism, sexism, and the unfair hoarding of profits.
Those profits created by the workers including managers and consumers, better used for all people’s needs, not just for the greed of a few, or bullies of inequality who use them to edge us closer to more war, even nuclear destruction.

“Equality”, like the Golden Rule, and Words of Jesus to "Love One Another" are meant to treat All, with Equal Respect and Concern!
Seek The Holy Spirit within, to confirm, than help act on best for this life, and hope of world to come!

Vatican II, last World Council of Christian Bishops, declared there be no more discrimination of race or sex..., as not the Will of God. The Pastoral Constitution, Article 29+.
Please share need to end inequality in our beliefs first, such as Pope Francis, Vatican City State, Rome, Italy 00120. International or three US stamps.
