Oh gosh, Elzie thought as she speed walked towards the History & Geography Classroom. She had forgotten her textbook, and her very personal journal, after class. When she had reached it, heart pounding fast, she found the room empty. Relieved to see that no teacher was in there to catch her, she turned the handle. But it was locked.
Now feeling very anxious, Elzie looked around to see if anyone could help before her next class starts. Scanning someone by the middle of the hallway, Elzie awkwardly approached him. "Um, hi, I'm Elzie. Do you, by any chance, know how to unlock that door?" She gestured to the classroom.
Elzie followed Shen, watching as he pulled out a ring of keys and unlocked the door. How did he get that? "Thank you. By the way, where did you acquire those keys? All I have is an ID card." Elzie walked into the classroom, looking under desks and chairs, searching for her precious journal (and her textbook, of course).
"Okay..." Elzie was cautious of mysterious people, but Shen seemed nice. She knew that he was in her art class, and perhaps some other things, but their paths had never crossed over before. Still looking around, Elzie asks, "do you remember what the homework was?"((Sorry for the delayed reply, I had to do something))
Does anyone ever actually do their homework? Elzie spotted the cover of her textbook under a chair, and reached down to get it. "Did you study for the quiz coming up tomorrow? You know, about the Canadian provinces?"((It's okay, I also have homework. You can end this rp whenever you like))
((Sure, but I might also take a while))The quiz was tomorrow! How had he not get a chance to study? "Well, not really," Elzie replied, which was a lie. "So far, I only know British Columbia and Quebec." Another lie. She had started studying since the day the quiz was announced. Ontario, Alberta, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan... She ran over some of them in her head. "Do you want to review them with me, since I have my textbook now?" Elzie didn't want him to fail, he seemed like a nice guy. Before she could say anything else, her journal dropped to the floor, and opened to a page full of writing.
"Thank you." Elzie took the journal from Shen's outstretched hand. Did he catch anything? "I wouldn't want to get in the way of your schedule, but sure. I guess I can help."Elzie cleared her throat, and opened to the page with a map of Canada's provinces. "Can you identity some of them on the map?"
((What do you want to do after this?))
((Sure. We could go down to the basketball court like you said, or somewhere else. Maybe Elzie has no idea how to play, and gets hit in the head with the ball. Or Shen finds out a secret in Elzie's journal?Yeah, I can kind of tell, but my character is oblivious. :) ))
He's actually doing pretty well, though I wouldn't want him to think I'm an egghead, Elzie thought. "You know, I think you'll be okay for the quiz. I have some time before class, so do you want to hang out?"
((It's okay. Do you have any other ideas? Should we go on one of the fields or maybe outside of the campus?))Shen didn't look really comfortable, but it was worth a try. At least one thing was checked off her Goals of the Year list: (try to) make a friend.
((That'll work))"I'm Elzarine, though people call me Elzie." She waited for Shen so they could walk together. Time to achieve her next goal: (try to) hang out for at least five minutes. "Do you want to head to the soccer field?"
Elzie slowed down a little. "I grew up in Montreal, but I just moved here recently." She held the exit door, letting Shen go first this time. Elzie looked towards the cloudy sky. Hopefully it doesn't rain. "What about you? Where do you hail from?"((Should we move to the Soccer Field thread now?))
