I grew up with a big ol' forest to run around in right behind my house, so I would run into rabbits and deer and such while I was romping around back there. It developed in me an affinity for woodland creatures. As a kid, I wished the pegasus was real. Everyone loves the unicorn, and that's cool, but I'll take a horse with wings, thank you!

My Favourite Mythical Creature is the Purple Dragon but I do agree with Jason with wishing the Pegasus was real as a kid.

Dragons. All day. There is no creature as mythical, sought after, feared, and loved. It's just the number one creature ever! At least on my list :)
