I believe that this is a 3 book series or saga but in the first book the female is on the run from her boss (she is a secret assassin), when this drug dealers goons surprise the group she is touring with try to take her and stealing the valuables of everyone but a guy who unbeknow to her is undercover for a different agency comes to her rescue before 2 goons can do bad things to her and take them to one of many compounds the drug dealers has. Then after a few days they escape back to the USA. I read these books in the last couple of years and I do not know when they were published sorry.

What's the female's "day job" or cover?
Do you learn early on the female and male are undercover assassins - or are these spoilers? Do either of the main characters work for the US government?
No this is not it but thank you for your guess.
I do not know the genre sorry. The female does not have a day job or cover. You do not know if they are assasins in the begging there is some info about there work but not much it unravels through out the book. Yes they do work for the US but the female is on the run.
