Roxy (bookchick313) I just leveled up from Mt. Vancouver and I'm ready to climb! Last year my goal was to climb Mt. Ararat, but I was unsuccessful. I was only able to reach 35 books. However, this year I am confident that I can not only reach the peak of Mt. Ararat but surpass it! I have already reached 36 books, so my goal is not unrealistic. Good luck to all of my fellow climbers: may we all reach the top!

Roxy (bookchick313) 37) Beautiful Redemption (Caster Chronicles, #4) by Kami Garcia Beautiful Redemption by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl*

3 stars-I am very happy that I finished this book. Not only does this count as my first book towards Mt. Ararat, it also is the final book in the Caster Chronicles. Other than dwindling down my tbr pile, my other big goal for this year is to complete a lot of the series I have started. I think at the beginning of the year there were 40!

As for this book, it was okay but nothing special (like the rest of the series, frankly). I do not recommend this series in all honesty. If you're really intrigued, I would watch the movie-it's a much smaller investment of time.

*Purchased for Kindle in February 2013

Roxy (bookchick313) 38) The Universe Versus Alex Woods by Gavin Extence The Universe Versus Alex Woods by Gavin Extence*

3.5 stars-I enjoyed it a lot as a whole, but it dragged in some places.

*Purchased for Kindle in November 2013

Ten more books until I conquer this mountain!

Roxy (bookchick313) 39) The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield*

3 stars

*Owned on Kindle since summer of 2011

Roxy (bookchick313) 40) The Lottery and Other Stories by Shirley Jackson The Lottery and Other Stories by Shirley Jackson*

4 stars-I don't usually enjoy short stories all that much. However, this anthology was so good that I read the whole collection as I would read a novel, instead of dipping in and out of it. As with most collections, some stories are stronger than others, but all are fairly good.

*Purchased for Kindle in October 2013

Roxy (bookchick313) 41) A Tale Dark & Grimm (A Tale Dark & Grimm, #1) by Adam Gidwitz A Tale Dark & Grimm by Adam Gidwitz*

3 stars-A quick read but not much more here than a dumbed down version of Grimm's fairy tales in my opinion. I will not be continuing the series.

*Purchased for Kindle in October 2013

Roxy (bookchick313) 42) Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta*

2 stars-I mainly read this book because of all the hype. I had heard nothing but positive thinks from several readers and booktubers. I honestly don't get it. It was frankly so boring to me that I couldn't even be bothered to pay attention to what was going on most of the time. I was over halfway through the book before I realized that Tate was a girl. It was that boring.

*Purchased for Kindle in February 2013

Roxy (bookchick313) 43) The Last Dragonslayer by Jasper Fforde The Last Dragonslayer by Jasper Fforde*

3 stars-The main character is 16 years old, but this reads more like a middle grade book. Great for 10-14 year olds. This book is reminiscent of Harry Potter. I won't be continuing the series as this didn't have that extra something to motivate me to continue onwards.

*Purchased for Kindle in August 2013

Roxy (bookchick313) 44) Hidden (House of Night, #10) by P.C. Cast Hidden by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast*

3 stars-This series has gone on for way too long, in my opinion. However, they are still quick reads and entertaining to a point. I will continue on with the series, especially since there are (finally) only two books left!

*Owned in Hardcover since December 2012?

Roxy (bookchick313) 45) The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris*

3 stars-I saw the movie many years ago before reading the book, so maybe that ruined the book for me. Whatever the case may be, I wasn't overly impressed with this. I do think the characterization was very well done in the book, particularly Hannibal. I probably won't continue the series, but I'm glad I read the book.

*Purchased in hardcover in September 2010

Roxy (bookchick313) 47) Enchanted by Alethea Kontis Enchanted by Alethea Konthis*

3 stars-Was interesting and fairly original at first, but seemed to drag on after awhile even though it is a fairly short book. Nothing special.

*Purchased in August 2013

Roxy (bookchick313) 48) Austenland by Shannon Hale Austenland by Shannon Hale*

4 stars-I don't even like Pride & Prejudice, but I absolutely adored this book. Brilliant concept that I felt was very well executed. Can't wait to read the sequel-luckily, I already have it on hand!

*Purchased for Kindle in February 2013

Another mountain conquered! Woot-woot! =D
