A good read. It took me about 150 or more pages to get into this book, which was plenty of time since it is over 800 pages long. It has only a minimum of the scare-the-everything-out-of-you Stephen King stuff in it and that is close to the end. It is one of the ASFG summer books of choice by students which I am working my way through. My goal is to read every English book the students are reading for the summer reading program as the seniors will have to write book reviews the first few weeks of my English classes. Enjoy a different kind of Stephen King book. It could be cut to 600 pages and be a better book; still it is worth reading as is.

Claudia | 1 comments I read City of ThievesCity of Thieves and it was a really interesting book, I recommend it to everyone who's interested in WWII and would like to know about the Soviet Union during that time. It is a story of courage, fight, friendship and trust and it is also very fun to read.

Ana Padilla | 1 comments I read Eleanor and Park, and I would recommend it but for Middle School students. I did enjoyed it but it was definitely a bit boring at times. This book is fiction mixed up with romance.

Marcus | 1 comments I read Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman and thought that it was a very predictable and unrealistic book. The fantasy in this book did not impress me very much and in the first pages of the book one can tell what will happen throughout the book which makes the reading experience boring. My main criticism on the book is that Gaiman doesn't do a good job developing his secondary characters in a way that makes them realistic, instead they seem dull and unbelievable.

Cesareo | 1 comments I read City of Thieves. Even though it wasn't my favorite book, the historical context it provides is unique. I would recommend it to anybody who wants to enjoy a good story and learn historical facts at the same time. The humor tends to be extremely explicit but this doesn't alter the quality of the book at all. Throughout this novel, you'll be able to find universal values such as hope, tolerance, respect, and friendship.

Ricardo M | 1 comments I read City of Thieves over the course of the summer and loved the book. It is a very interesting read mixed with humor and violence which calls for a an entertaining adventure.

Juan Pablo | 1 comments Sold Is a great book. It is a book that is really easy to read. It covers topics like slave trade and prostitution that are really interesting and really relevant to the world of 2014. I would really recommend this book to everyone but specially to girls

Eduardo Romano | 1 comments I read The Things They Carried and it was very interesting how Tim O'Brien described his scenes to show you how intense were those moments at war. I recommend it a lot to people who are interested in war stories and it shows you how the Vietnam War really was a terrible war. The descriptions on the book are way too detailed, but in general, the book is awesome and I would really tell the students to take their time to read it.

Santiago Gomez | 1 comments I read City of Thieves which wasn't the best book I have read, but it was very interesting. I recommend this book for plenty of reasons. One of the major reasons of why I recommend this book is for its great humor and description. Also I find history very interesting and with this book I can imagine what it felt like to live during the WWII.

Jose Eduardo | 1 comments I read The Things They Carried which i enjoyed a lot as it is not like any other book. First of all, anyone could thing that the title is related to the heavy equipment they had to carry but that is not really the meaning. In my opinion, the heaviest things they carried were emotional aspects not only physical. This is how Tim O'brien explains every moment to make you feel as in war. I would definitely recommend tis book to high school kids.

Christian | 1 comments I read Into the Beautiful North and I thought it was a well written story. Even though I don't often like reading books about Mexican guerrilla and immigrants, I enjoyed reading this book. It was really interesting because you can see the process that teenagers go through for a better future. I recommend this book to teenagers because it can teach strong values, like braveness.

Adrian Marin | 1 comments I read 11/22/63, a huge book by Stephen King, and I can't help but feel like it just wasn't worth my time. There is an interesting plot, but King gets distracted easily and drifts in and out of the main plot. I honestly wouldn't recommend reading this book, unless you are a huge fan of the author.

Diego Bricio | 1 comments City of Thieves is a great book about WWII that makes you go into the book and live the experience. It is a book that promotes friendship, courage and perseverance. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the Soviet Union or WWII

I also liked the book especially because it talks about the Soviet Union. I really like Soviet history and it gave me a good insight into it.
