Over the summer I read Speak and A Dog’s Purpose. I chose to read Speak because when we did a lit circle last year in English, it was one of the books. I picked a different book for that lit circle, but after the people who read gave a brief summary on the book and their opinion on the book, I thought the book would be interesting to read. After reading it, I thought the plot was amazing, but at the same time it was really sad and hurtful. I really liked how Speak was written in a diary format. I picked A Dog’s Purpose as my second book because I heard that it was made into a movie so I thought it must be a really good story. I also really like dog’s so it really caught my attention. After reading it, it has become one of my favorite books, because just like Speak the plot was AMAZING, but unlike Speak it made me happy throughout the novel. Writing a novel from a perspective of a dog makes the novel distinguishing from the others. I recommend everyone to read both novels because they were great!
