I'll be on pins and needles through early next week watch Irma with family in Miami, Orlando, North Carolina, and extended family and friends scattered along the eastern seaboard. I'm afraid this one is going to be like nothing anyone has experienced before with it's size and intensity.
Thanks. We are in Southwest Florida and waiting for Irma. We are staying here, but, because my family and my mom live in mobile homes, we are all going to stay with my aunt and her nine cats. She has a strong house (been through hurricanes before), a bit further from the shore. We're expecting the hurricane on Sunday.
My thoughts are going out to everyone affected by these storms and other natural disasters. I hope and pray everyone will be safe.

Good thoughts and prayers for you and your family, stay safe. Check in when you can.
My ex, my sister (both in Miami) and my baby (21 years old in Orlando) are all staying put. He's working for Universal Orlando as a lighting tech and they have to take down all the lighting the spent the last week putting up for the Halloween festivities.

It is on the news constantly here in Sweden and I pray and hope people will be able to protect themselves and stay safe and their pets also.
We're still waiting, because it's slowed down and is just over the keys now. It was supposed to be here by now, but now it should come in the afternoon, more or less. The suspense is kind of annoying. We're going to have a hot breakfast in case the power goes out later (it will), and then we have a lot of cold food ready. We have books and cats to keep us busy.
Lori, I hope you and your family, and all our members and their families in the hurricane's path, come through safely.
We're fine and our homes are fine; it just took us awhile to get our electricity and internet back. Hoping Maria isn't heading our way!
I have just caught up with this thread (not getting GR notifications!). So pleased to hear everyone here is OK but very sorry indeed to see the devastation in the US and especially in the Caribbean where a number of my late husband's relatives live. When I read of these disasters I am always thankful I live in a country which has no such extreme weather, nor any life threatening insects or animals (except one small adder rarely seen).
