Pressure Cooker by Siddiq Salik ( novel).
Akhri Chatan by Nasim Hijazi (novel).

they are good, but not good for starters

W As for Manto,he is controversial.He spent much of his life battling charges of obscenity.But that aside,his stories are powerful enough to shock the reader as he delves deep into the baser human instincts.

W But it does seem to me that the quality of the work of newer Urdu writers is going downhill is going downhill fast.

If Nimra and Umera are the best examples of current Urdu writers,then the writers of previous generations were far better.
