I've reopened the polls so you can vote against the following two books, which ended in a tie for September's group read:
Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson and The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman alexie

I think The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian is a better book, but I think Speak will lead to a better group discussion.

ohhh goodie - i've heard awesome things about The MArtian - need to see if my library has it in audiobook (supposedly the narrator is awesome)
