Burcu Kocoglu | 4 comments all i can remember about this book is this girl (probably around highschool age) has glandular fever - i think it's in autumn - and she's in bed, with fleeting memories and things she keeps trying to remember.

there was something recurring about a lady with sickly sweet perfume or the sickly sweet smell of flowers. and i think there was something about birds singing - i think a nighhtingale
i know this is really jumbled and i think im maybe mixing two books up, but im pretty sure it was the one book! its driving me CRAZY

Where is it set, and when did you read it? Author female or male? Is it YA or adult? Remember the cover?

Also I'm removing the all-caps from your header.

Burcu Kocoglu | 4 comments I'm not 100% sure but it could be during Victorian times or something like that. it wasn't a modern setting

Burcu Kocoglu | 4 comments I dont remember who the author was, potentially a female but not sure. I dont know if it was YA, I remember picking it up from my older sister's room and reading a little bit of it, I dont usually bother with reading only specific age group targeted books

Please note the bump period is 30+ days because this group is so large -- or sooner if you remember more information which you can add at any time.

Burcu, around what year did you read this book? A range of years is fine. This can help narrow down the search.

This is a long shot, but it might be Jon, Flora and the Odd-Eyed Cat...it's a boy, not a girl, and I don't know if glandular fever is the same as rheumatic fever. but there's definitely something about the smell of flowers.

Burcu, are you still looking for this or did you find it?

SamSpayedPI | 2361 comments Marianne Dreams by Catherine Storr perhaps? Nothing really matches but the "glandular fever" (and that might just have been the movie) but I thought I'd throw it out there.
