Books featuring famous dead people. They have to have been actual people, once alive, now deceased. But book can be fiction or nonfiction.
What great suggestions! I love the "famous dead people theme", "sun in the title", "animal stories" and "food in the title." They all sound so good it will be hard to decide. I'm not even going to nominate a theme for August. I'll just sit back and enjoy all the great themes everyone else is coming up with:)
Moving DayI nominate this because I'm moving from my condo here in Ft Lauderdale back to my hometown of Muddy, IL. Got me a double wide with 2 acres of land - trees and deer aplenty! Brother is reno it and making it handicapped accessible, so I don't break my other hip... =)
Good luck with the move Anne. There has indeed been some good suggestions for August theme. I'm liking the "famous dead people theme" in particular as there are so many book options for that one!
Is anyone familiar with 'Bangsian Fantasy'? According to Wikipedia, they are books about famous dead people, real or fictional, and their adventures in the afterlife. John Kendrick Bangs did not invent the sub-genre, but his works 'gave it publicity and literary status'. I've read The Enchanted Type-Writer, and really enjoyed it.

Oooo, you're right. Two birds, one stone? Actually, I didn't find out until after I had read The Enchanted Type-writer that A House-Boat on the Styx is the first in the series. I imagine it is just as good.

Got inspired by Anne's move - how about new beginnings. All the best on your move Anne - had no idea where Muddy, IL was, so had to look it up. Sounds like it will be nice and relaxing!
Oh! lol! I missed the comma in Anne's post. I thought that Illinois was known for being muddy!Good luck with the move Anne!
Good luck Anne! Enjoy the trees and deer. And it sounds like you still have family there (although you never know how much of a good/bad thing that is!).
Thanks everyone. M-Day is August 18th! Will have withdrawals from no internet and Goodreads, especially you guys for a few weeks.
