I like this idea! But maybe we could expand it to also: star, moon and the name of a planet?

message 10: by Tejas Janet (new)

Tejas Janet (tejasjanet) | 3510 comments Books featuring famous dead people. They have to have been actual people, once alive, now deceased. But book can be fiction or nonfiction.

message 11: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 1278 comments What great suggestions! I love the "famous dead people theme", "sun in the title", "animal stories" and "food in the title." They all sound so good it will be hard to decide. I'm not even going to nominate a theme for August. I'll just sit back and enjoy all the great themes everyone else is coming up with:)

Anne (Booklady) Molinarolo (wwwgoodreadscomAnneMolinarolo) | 1282 comments Moving Day

I nominate this because I'm moving from my condo here in Ft Lauderdale back to my hometown of Muddy, IL. Got me a double wide with 2 acres of land - trees and deer aplenty! Brother is reno it and making it handicapped accessible, so I don't break my other hip... =)

Sarah | 18519 comments Good luck with the move Anne.

There has indeed been some good suggestions for August theme. I'm liking the "famous dead people theme" in particular as there are so many book options for that one!

message 14: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle | 4109 comments Is anyone familiar with 'Bangsian Fantasy'? According to Wikipedia, they are books about famous dead people, real or fictional, and their adventures in the afterlife. John Kendrick Bangs did not invent the sub-genre, but his works 'gave it publicity and literary status'. I've read The Enchanted Type-Writer, and really enjoyed it.

Delmy (needfulreads) That's awesome Anne! Good luck with the move!!

Sounds interesting! The Enchanted Type-Writer, at 32 ratings would fit this month's challenge, too.

Lanelle | 4109 comments Oooo, you're right. Two birds, one stone?

Actually, I didn't find out until after I had read The Enchanted Type-writer that A House-Boat on the Styx is the first in the series. I imagine it is just as good.

Lilisa | 2733 comments Got inspired by Anne's move - how about new beginnings.

All the best on your move Anne - had no idea where Muddy, IL was, so had to look it up. Sounds like it will be nice and relaxing!

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19271 comments Oh! lol! I missed the comma in Anne's post. I thought that Illinois was known for being muddy!

Good luck with the move Anne!
