Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental disorder in which people have unwanted and repeated thoughts, feelings, ideas, sensations (obsessions), and behaviors that drive them to do something over and over (compulsions). Often the person carries out the behaviors to get rid of the obsessive thoughts.
OCD is believed to be a branch of anxiety but has also become its own thing altogether as it has such a broad range; from severe OCD where people struggle to leave their homes to mild OCD where people can basically function normally but still have certain rituals they have to do.
I haven't really worked out how to talk about it just yet, and I haven't been officially diagnosed, but I do believe I have OCD. It's kind of a thing I just know and I have no doubts about it. It's hard to explain to other people; the compulsions and whatnot, but they're there.
I can't go into detail too much about it yet as I find it very hard to explain, but I'm hoping with time that I will get better at it.
