Yay! This looks like fun. Excellent work Amanda!!!I just read a book yesterday that might fit the Bump in the Night - An Unsuitable Heir. The first two in this trilogy were more suspenseful / creepy but this one definitely has RS elements.

Questions!!!!So this looks like a lot of fun, but I have QUESTIONS!
Do ARCs count?
Does non-fiction count?
❇ Critterbee wrote: "What about re-reads?Sorry, only I keep thinking of questions!"
I had wondered this too! I'm going to assume yes, they count, unless someone says otherwise.
Oh, neat! I've been meaning to read Destiny Soria's book Iron Cast which suckered me into buying it with that stunning cover. It's been on my TBR for a while now, and hopefully it will be a great Halloween read!Edit: Here is the cover:
(stunning, right?)
I think I will keep track and just try to post my updates monthly so I don't over-post (anymore). Also, I generally dislike the idea of a sports romance, can someone please request one for me to try so that I can check that box? I generally read historical, fantasy, mystery, science fiction, and graphic novels.
This should be fun. I've kick off the first october challenge with one of Vicki Essex's novels.
Edit:

Are there any sports you particularly like (or dislike)? Here are my recs by sport: Football (Sacked by Jen Frederick or The Hook Up by Kristen Callihan), basketball (The Player Next Door by Kathy Lyons), race car driving (Hard and Fast by Erin McCarthy), boxing (The Hurricane by RJ Prescott), or hockey (The Deal by Elle Kennedy).
I wonder if any of the books in Theresa Romain's Romance of the Turf series could be considered "Historical Sports Romance" as I've heard that they center around horse racing....
All right, Critterbee! Everything you said counts. It doesn't have to be JUST romance. Re-reads count as long as you re-read them during the challenge's duration.
If you like historical, I definitely recommend the previously mentioned Theresa Romain's Romance of the Turf series.
As for graphic novels, I'd prefer to limit it to one per the entire challenge given that they may not be as time consuming to finish as a full length book.

Thanks, for the answers Amanda. This is going to be a blast.
I have read one of Courtney Milan's Romance of the Turf, so I might choose to read another in that series as my sports read. But, it feels like cheating, and that I should be trying something totally new.
I like Baseball, can anyone recommend a baseball romance? Or I could source a sporty book on Netgalley.
Well, it's not baseball, but for a really different sports romance I'd recommend Kulti, by Mariana Zapata. The heroine is a female soccer player, and the hero is her childhood idol/soccer coach.
Here's a goodreads list: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...

Thanks, Sandy. Checking the list out now. Jaci Burton seems to have written a lot, with good reviews, so I think I might choose one of hers.

@Sha - Goodreads has a couple food in romance lists:https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/7...

Alisha Rai has a couple romances centered around restaurants. And there's Vicki Essex's Back to the Good Fortune Dinner.
If you like mm, Annabeth Albert's new Rainbow Cove series is about three friends who open a grill pub in small town Oregon and there's a lot about food in the books. Oh, and a few of her Portland Heat books center around heroes who work in food service.

Yep! Audiobooks count!
Yep! Audiobooks count!
Another sports suggestion for anyone who dislikes team sports: Winning Ruby Heart by Jennifer Lohmann is about a female competitive runner.
Hoping this helps my slumpThree questions come to mind:
1)Does the hero and/or heroine have to participate in a sport to qualify as a Sports Romance? Or can it just be a romance where a sport is an important element? (I think I have something involving horse racing, but no idea if either of the leads ends up jockeying.)
2)Do we keep track by posting a list here? I see several people have, so I assume so, but just wanted to double check.
3)Does anyone have a link to the instructions for posting graphics here? The search is weak in this one and I struck out looking for them. (Recently started a book in a LoA collection. Not a romance, but they have mostly black covers.)

Hey LostShadows!
I can't help with your 1st or 2nd question but hopefully this will help with your third (I'm no expert).
If by graphics your referring to a book cover:
1. In the comments box here there is a "add book/author" link in green right above to the top right.
2. Click it and up pops a search field. Search your title.
3. Down at the bottom of the pop up there is a bubble choice of just the "title text link" or "the book cover" so choose which one you want & click the add button to right of your chosen title & it will add it to your comments.
Or if you are talking about a gif or image here are some directions I've found helpful:

Hope that helps!

Thanks to Heather for answering the graphics question!
If sports play an important element, that works. I read a sports romance where the heroine was the daughter of the former owner of a baseball team and the hero was a former college baseball player who now owned a baseball team. Neither character currently played baseball, but I'd still consider it a sports romance.
It helps to keep track here to make things easier when selecting winners for prizes once the challenge is over! I also like seeing what other people are reading, in case a similar book is on my TBR pile and would fit with a particular task.
