I'm currently reading It, but I seen both the mini-series that aired in the 90's and this year's adaptation. What are your thoughts of each?

Not surprisingly, I prefer the 2017 adaptation. The 90's Mini-Series was a mixed bag. The first part wasn't scary, but was kinda creepy, I'll at least give it that. The second part felt like a full blown comedy.
I absolutely loved the 2017 version. It was a great mix of horror, plot, characters, and it was also hilarious.
I just finished the book and watched the movie. I had already seen the previous mini-series and movie from years past. Interestingly, I thought that the 2017 movie mucked up the story line while successfully capturing the ultimate theme and feel of the book perfectly - a good balance of the horror, humor, and weirdness. I had chills while I chuckled, it was a good time. But I keep hearing that there is going to be a sequel to this film?? I don't understand how they will do that since they superimposed (and, so, used up) so many aspects of the adult story-line onto the children story-line? Has anyone else heard about a sequel?

There might be flash backs involving the kids and there will be more of a focus on IT. Otherwise, that's about all I know.
This is one of my favourite books and two of my favourite movies. I think the miniseries has a creepy vibe, but it isn’t the right vibe for this. I am now around the age of the character in the movie, but not the book. I’m aware I read the book when I was 12, too early for some of the content, but it did educate me about how there are more than one type of monster in the world. I’m not just talking about Pennywise, I’m taking about the homophobia, sexism, racism, body shaming, domestic and hinted at sexual abuse, death, suicide and more. Be aware of this before going into it. I wish I was. But I hope most people enjoyed it and felt that those issues were dealt with in one way or another.
