Breadcrumbs discussion

A girl named Hazel and a boy named Jack were best friends, Jack got a shard of glass in his eye and it changed him. One day a witch took Jack because he felt unloved hazel went and looked for him she helped him find out who he really is.

In the book Breadcrumbs by Anne Ursu the character Jack is a dynamic character. When Jack is first introduced in in the story he is a kind superhero loving kind of guy, he enjoyed hanging our with hazel and talking about superheros, but throughout the middle of the book he changes by getting a piece of magic mirror in his eye, we find out that jack ends up being rude to hazel and doesn't hang out with her anymore in conclusion jack is a dynamic character who changes because of a piece of glass and ends up being a jerk.

In this book there is a baseball that Hazel has in her room and its signed by a baseball player. in the book she explains why Hazel has the baseball she said when Hazels dad left she was going through a really hard time and jack gave her the signed baseball his prized possession. I think the baseball symbolizes their friendship because at the end when Hazel is rescuing Jack this baseball is what brings him back it was strong enough to help him remember how great their friendship was.

I didn't think I would like this book as much as I did. When i got his book I didn't take time to actually pick it out, I needed a book fast so I picked the first one I saw that kinda went with the books I liked to read, for a couple years it just sat on my book shelf not being used then I needed to read a book so I thought I would give this book a chance and i'm really glad I did because i couldn't put it down and I could relate to what hazel was going through. Overall I really liked this book between the fairy tales and the mystery I could relate which made it even better.
