I will start. I have made many dear friends through this group. Ladies I am able to chat with about books and who are always kind, caring and respectful. The laughter we share(d) will always be a favorite. In the beginning, knowing many of you would be here to laugh with and make jokes with always brightened a rotten day.December 27th will be our three year anniversary. I hope we stay in touch for many more. ((Hugs)) to all.
Oh, that was so sweet, Mel!This was my first book group, and so far it's my only one. I'm so happy we got together by sharing love for books. I discovered a lot of urban fantasy through this group and I miss discussing chapters and have little contests here. I guess not using Facebook much makes me miss most of those, even if my time zone makes it hard in any platform. I hope people rush to this discussion group again ;)
Miss you lots Ines, We always had so many books and opinions in common. I do follow your pictures on Google+ but I miss our chats, too.
Hey all! I'm late to joining in to this awesome wonderland of Charley Davidson, but I'm thrilled to have found it. I love to talk books and when I found this group it made my day. I only discovered the series back in January, but I can honestly say I became a Reyes-a-holic instantly! The highlight was actually getting a chance to meet Darynda in person at the RT Booklovers Con this year. Can't wait to talk shop!
Hey, Betty. Welcome to the group! I look forward to drooling over Reyes with you. DJ is awesome, isn't she? Her involvement with her fans is exceptional.
Mel-I totally agree! I have to admit I had a real life case of fan fever when I met her. She's so down to earth it completely puts you at ease!
Darynda must do an European tour! Must!! lolIt seems your wish came true because we are discussing the first chapter of the 6th book. Oh Mel, you have to read it because we have to discuss that end. It is too good not to be discussed to exhaustion!
Ines, maybe you can save, save and save to come to RT Vegas in 2016. Several of us are going to go to RT again then. We would love to meet and hang out with you. I know I need to read it. I will try. I have a long list of things that I am trying to accomplish and I made reading Sixth Grave my reward for accomplishing them.

I have a question. This is my first post and I want to be more involved but I am not sure how. I follow along and I read the posts here and on FB but my work schedule makes it difficult for me to participate in active group conversations. I live in the middle of nowhere Ohio and while I know some DJ fans they are not interested in discussion groups. Does anything ever happen in the middle of the night or is there a heads up that you are going to discuss a specific topic?

Simply reply to the question or the others who have already commented and those who are following will reply to your response. It is lots of fun to chat with others here in Darynda Jones's Fan Group. I have made lots of great friends that way. Goodreads is a great place to chat with others who love to read.
Please feel free to contact me personally with other questions on how to get involved. You can send me a message through Goodreads. I also live in Ohio, currently the Columbus area.

Are there ever any 'live' discussion forums, where everyone is on and talking at the same time?

The "live" discussions do not happen as often as these kind of discussions because of the various time zones and everyone has different schedules. When one occurs, it will usually be announced at least a week in advance and advertised. Be sure to become a Grimlet and to "like" Darynda Jones's Facebook page, as well, to ensure you receive all the announcements. They advertise the happenings of this group on Facebook. I hope I was helpful.
Just stopped by to say hello to everyone. I hope y'all are healthy and happy. I am behind in my reading so I cannot join in on the Eighth Grave discussion but I wanted to let you know that I was thinking of you. Enjoy all the fun! Take care and have a great summer.

I am ashamed to say that I have NOT read Sixth Grave, yet (personal goals and I decided reading it would serve as my reward for accomplishing them), but I have heard it is awesome. I know DJ is a superb writer and Dana did a wonderful job of bringing us together here at the end of 2011.
I hold many fond memories of this group. Would anyone like to share their best memories of the DJ Goodreads Fan Group? I would enjoy hearing from you.
