Where in Merseyside do you live, Ian? I am a HUGE Beatles fan and I was in Liverpool this summer doing the National Trust tour of John and Paul's houses.
Born in Anfield, moved to aintree (home of the Grandnational) and now live over in the Wirral. Where are you Susan?Beatles - the black hackney cabs do a guided tour that's pretty good, I believe. Unusual, anyway.
Used to work in a the Secondary school that John Lennon used to attend. In fact, my old boss at the school went there as a kid and was actually in the same year group as John L......Imagine?
I live in London, Ian. I can't imagine it was much fun being in the same year as John - he was pretty badly behaved!
Hi Anne-Marie...and welcome!Just noticed that our membership has gone from 9 to 10....excellent.
Would be good if you told us a little about yourself.
Looking forward to our future "book-talk banter"
Laters.....off to work in a min. :(
Hello I'm dorota but every one call me Dora. I'm polish but its 5 years I live in Wolverhampton . I live with my almost 2 year old daughter a dog named Jeff and of course my partner ☺I love read crime, fantasy and sy-fy, but I take any book. Just love read.
Hi Dora , and welcome to the groupCrime fiction: Have you ever read any Ian Rankin books?
He writes fiction (mostly murders) about a Scottish detective called Rebus - in Edinburgh, which is really good and, believe it or not, his family come from a Polish background.
Anyway, my Challenge is to try collect and read all of his books by Easter....lots of reading ahead so I best get on with it!!
Dora, can I ask you please...what on earth is Manga??Just read your profile and I believe you like reading it.
I never had his book in my hands but I try sound really interesting. I need to ask my dad possible he have some, I took this reading bug from him 😂Magna is a Japanese (comics) book you read it form back to front, from left to right , some of them have lots f volumes some are just one shots. I love Japanese culture, read a lot of magna, watch anime (cartoons) and the dramas (TV series).
Interesting....still struggling with English my self, even tho I am English. Scouse - no problem with that!! :)
Anyway, I mainly like reading crime fiction so please let me know if you come across anything worth 5 stars.
Re: crime, I loved The Fourth Monkey, which I read recently. Also, really enjoyed The Word Is Murder.
And what about the Agatha Christie one that you are currently reading? My wife has seen all the films and has got the books.....she loves Marple...and the Belgian geezer!!!! Even got a mug with Marples mugshot on it. OMW.
Agatha Christie is my all time favourite author and my go to 'comfort read.' I help moderate a Goodreads group called, "Reading the Detectives," which reads Golden Age crime and we have a Miss Marple challenge this year. Last year we did Dorothy L. Sayers and next year will be Ngaio Marsh. We also have a monthly group read and lots of buddy reads - it's a pretty active group, I am pleased to say!
Books mentioned in this topic
The Fourth Monkey (other topics)The Word is Murder (other topics)

It would be great if you could introduce yourself and also write a few words about the books that you enjoy reading the most:
