It did, actually. Dan seemed to have moved on in his life since their past steam, but he clearly had memories of Maggie that were indelible.
It did and it didn't. I love a good second chance romance, but I wasn't convinced that Dan felt anything but fond memories for young Maggie. If Quinn wasn't in the mix would Dan have renewed a sexual relationship with Maggie only to leave her again? With his track record of easy come, easy go, it's a fair question.
I loved that their relationship was complicated and messy. Dan had a long row to hoe in gaining Maggie’s trust and adjusting to being a father. His shtick was to stay footloose and keep moving. Quinn forced him to face his feelings. Max was a great influence and Maggie let him off the hook a little too easy but she loved him, had his child. That makes a difference.
It wasn’t perfect but that’s how I like romances.

"He did renew the relationship and was on his way back to see her again when he met Quinn. It was clear he was emotionally involved before Quinn cam into the mix.
