Suzanne (suzannekm) | 76 comments Just finished The Mists of Avalon. I liked the long, dreamlike pacing, kind of like an elaborate spell that kept me reading. I liked the constant questioning of the women, a nice counter to the questing of the men. The unresolved interplay of religious perspectives makes this a good UU reading! I could never decide who was good and who was evil, which also seems like a good dilemma from a UU point of view. Following the women's viewpoints in what is usually a men's story was the best treat for me.

I especially liked the thought that Gwenhwyfar was Morgaine's shadow, in the Jungian, archetypal sense. That seems to be a motif between the various "worlds" too.

Cool book.
