I personally did not get to the September task this month, so I plan on coming back to this after October.
I read Seraphina, which was ok, not mind-blowing but pretty good for YA.
I had also picked A Gentleman in Moscow, which I was really enjoying (it's a really breezy read), but then I thought "maybe I should read more about the Russian Revolution before reading this". Not that the book demands it, but I thought it would be cool. So now I'm reading Orlando Figes' book about the Revolution and I'll come back to it after I'm done.

I read What We Lose which was recommended by Joanie (I have no idea who you are on here Joanie hit me up) and it was amazing.

I read Crazy Rich Asians for this month's task, and i really liked it. i also read a few other books but they didn't fall under the 'recommended' umbrella.
I read Act Like It, Everything I Never Told You and The Fact of a Body: A Murder and a Memoir. I liked all three.
I read We Have Always Lived in the Castle and The Haunting of Hill House which are setting the tone for my October reading. I thought both were really great, but We Have Always Lived in the Castle was probably my favorite of the two.

i loved those books, too!!!

I loved You, but I'm having trouble getting into TFoaB and I'm halfway through it :/ I'm not feeling the layout/some of the writing and tbh it's just depressing to read...I'm having trouble reading more than a few chapters at a time so I'm not sure if I'll finish it this month or not.
I also read Station Eleven for the challenge, which I really enjoyed!
Yesterday I finished The Doomsday Book by Connie Willis, which Kim recommended. I loved it!!! One of my faves of the year, so so so good.
It's set in the near future, where time travel has been invented. Oxford historians start sending researchers to the past. The book is about a historian who goes to the Middle Ages, only things don't go quite as planned.

I read The Song of Achilles, which I've been meaning to read for quite a while, but was really happy to get around to this month. I thought it was really beautiful and sweet and completely heartbreaking, so thanks to anyone that rec'd it at ONTD in the past (there were a lot of people).
I finally got my hands on a copy of Fitness Junkie and finished it last night. I have to say, I was kind of disappointed. I absolutely loved Lucy Sykes and Jo Piazza's last book, The Knockoff, so I had high hopes for this book, but it fell kind of flat. It had its funny moments, and it made fun of GOOP quite a bit, but some scenes just dragged out too long for me. And after a good lead-up, I just didn't find the end as fulfilling as I had hoped.
I read When and I really enjoyed it. I kind of wish it wasn't a stand-alone because I'd honestly like to read more about the characters. I really liked how the romance wasn't a central aspect at all. I also felt the main character was pretty realistic in comparison to a lot of other YA.

I really liked how the romance wasn't a cent..."Yay! I'm so glad you liked it! I'm the one who rec'd that one. The main character really was an average teen and that's what I enjoyed about it.
I finally finished my September book, Carmilla! It's a short read, with what I thought was an anti-climatic ending. I was looking forward to some f/f and yea, there's some emotion between these two ladies. Which is why I think people should read it. It's interesting to see how it influenced Dracula. Seeing as I knew the big reveal, I can see how that would have been surprising when it was first published.
I finally finished my book, Seraphina by Rachel Hartman! LOL. I dont know why this month's task was hard for me to find a book?! I just kept putting off finding one! I ended up going with Seraphina, which Lea read too. I liked it a lot. I don't normally read fantasy, and never read a book about dragons before at all, so it was all new to me and I really liked it. It was cute and sweet. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a charming YA. And now I am officially done with every month's task from 2017! (...i think, anyway lol, maybe i should double check that :D)
