I really, really wanted to stay away from the monthly challenges for awhile so I could focus on some of the other ones, but I missed the word search so much!

That's my subconscious signing in, just don't rat on me XD

48/50

Sharpe Mind (Maycroft Mystery #3) by Lisa B. Thomas (10/3/17)

9. Colourful - By the looks of her low cut blouse, diamond bracelets, colorful tattoos, and bare ring finger, she wasn't the kind of person Deena wanted to tangle with. (loc 608)
38. Rustling - A rustling noise in the front room drew her attention. (loc 1957)
39. Scarf - Strangled by a knitted scarf. (loc 643)
40. Scary - The police station seemed less scary now that Deena wasn't a prime suspect in a murder case. (loc 2763)
43. Vibrant - The once vibrant lawn had mostly gone to seed. (loc 1950)

The Story of Jess...and Her Dead Uncle's Undead Girlfriend by Rebecca Timmons (10/5/17)

12. Crackling + 17. Fireside/Fire - The warmth and cracklings of the fire always calmed her, no matter the season or temperature. (loc 277)

16. Eerie - It was a tad eerie. (loc 115)

22. Ghoul - "Hey ghouls, we got a newbie!" (loc 496)
25. Haunted - I had inadvertently haunted my own mother. (loc 665)
28. Icy + 33. Orange - It was always cold at first, but once the sun peeked up from the horizon and the sky started to turn pretty oranges, pinks and purples, you could slowly feel the warmth of the light penetrate the icy chill residing from the previous night. (loc 227)
36. Red - Jess was beet red, and could feel it. (loc 356)
46. Windy - The forest was calm and the roads were windy. (loc 2399)

Romancing Wisconsin Volume I (Christmas Boxed Set) by Stacey Joy Netzel (10/15/17)

Suzanne (esmerelda1) | 2734 comments The Lost Challenges
October Scavenger
Duration:
10/1/2017 - 10/31/2017

Progress: 46 out of 50
Chose your level:
Undead - 41-50 words

Each month we will give you a list of 50 themed words to find in your books.

There is no limit to how many words you can get per book.

For each word please post a link to the book, the author, the date you finished it, plus the page number/location and sentence where you found the word.

Any genre/format is fine.
Re-reads are OK.
No page minimum.
To count a book towards the challenge you must read the majority of it after the start date of the challenge.

At the end of the month please re-post your whole challenge as a new message so that we can award your Hall of Fame badge!

(Even if you don't hit the level you were aiming for, you can still claim a badge for the words you did get.)

Try going on Google Books, search the title, then the word and maybe you can find the pages. Sometimes it works.

I'm away over the weekend and I've unsuccessfully checked the books I'm currently reading for my two missing words, I'm going to call it done.

5. Bright - Jess could feel her face now take on a new shade of bright pink as she realized that he had yet to actually ring the doorbell. (loc 719)
6. Brown - He was tall and skinny, his brown hair with dusty grey in it. (loc 249)
7. Chilly - Her covers were chilly, causing goosebumps to overtake her body. (loc 1632)
10. Costumes - Most girls wore what looked like aerobic costumes, neon colors and frilly skirts while others still rocked the bell bottoms and t-shirts. (loc 880)
12. Crackling + 17. Fireside/Fire - The warmth and cracklings of the fire always calmed her, no matter the season or temperature. (loc 277)
13. Creepy - They hadn't been in the house long but the attic still seemed creepy and dusty. (loc 434)
16. Eerie - It was a tad eerie. (loc 115)
18. Flannel - Still in her flannel pajama pants and blue t-shirt, Jess meandered downstairs and watched her mom frantically try to get out of the door: toast in her mouth, coffee thermos in one hand, phone in the other. (loc 295)
(loc 2399)
47. Witch - "You witches!" (loc 2189)
48. Weird - It was weird to think that my parents hat met and figured out their lives at a school over 5 times that size. (loc 465)

More Than Friends Collection (More Than Friends, #1-3) by Aria Grace (10/7/17)

15. Enchanting - His voice is sweet and enchanting. (loc 3265)
23. Golden - His slim build didn't do justice to the rows of muscle hidden just below his soft, golden skin. (loc 559)
44. Visual Ryan seemed a little stunned at first and then he stared back at Zach, as if looking for visual clues. (loc 329)
50. Zombie - He almost didn't recognize him as the half naked video game zombie from the other night. (loc 224)

The World Before MM Romance by Ella Primrose (10/8/17)

2. Amber Brath licks the sticky amber substance off his thumb and throws one of his cards on the table. (loc 1222)
21. Frost - His skin feels icy; his lips are chapped by frost. (loc 708)

14. Crisp - He pulled out his wallet, extracted a crisp new twenty dollar bill and held it out to Clarissa. (loc 1450)
30. Magical - Even though she couldn't explain how the package of cookies had levitated, she still found it hard to believe she possessed magical powers. (loc 1908)

1. Abundant - Centenarian Tom Potts raised his wizened hand and returned the wave, glad of a brief respite from tending to his vast, award-winning hanging baskets, abundant with vivid blooms. (loc 30)

Romancing Wisconsin Volume I (Christmas Boxed Set) by Stacey Joy Netzel (10/15/17)

29. Inspirational - Same inspirational mural, same commons area, same plain offices to the left - but the faces inside were new. (loc 3153)
31. Misty - As Marissa carried her away, Sue moved into the living room and added her misty-eyed congratulations to Mark and Janelle. (loc 3989)
34. Pumpkin - Then, like Cinderella at the ball, she whirled and ran as if the fairy dust would disappear, and she'd become a pumpkin right in front of him. (loc 4163)
37. Ripe - The lingering flavors of the wine they'd drank danced on her tastebuds; sweet vanilla, ripe black cherry and tantalizing spices. (loc 913)
