Mods, I have evicted/banned three people from the group. None of these people were active thread participants. Two were authors who twice (several months apart) added their own books to the group bookshelves. I let it go the first time, but when I noticed it the second time it pissed me off given that they had also spammed their books onto numerous Listopias.

Then yesterday I immediately banned a guy who was posting the same spam post in dozens of different groups - trying to sell something, I don't remember what.

Just FYI.

Mods can PM me if you have questions....(honestly I'd rather do banning talk via PM but there doesn't seem to be any easy way to send one PM to all mods at once).

I also support this. I've wondered a couple of times about entries, and have removed some postings. How does one ban another?

It would be helpful if there was a way to PM mods. Would the people who maintain GoodReads have a way of setting this up as an option for the various groups?

I've posted several times in the Feedback Group asking for a way to set this up as an option, but nothing has been done about it, no promises made, etc. The workaround is to set up a private/secret group for just the mods of the group. This seems like kind of a hassle. It's not like we have that many internal and top secret issues to debate. I'm already a member of too many groups.

I agree. I'd hate to be part of a secret group. Then I'd have to remember to check in to be sure I didn't miss any important business.
