I've had The Underground Railroad and The Devourers on my to-read, I hadn't realised they'd won awards this year - plus, my mom just bought The Underground Railroad, the universe has aligned, etc.

Also thinking about Every Heart a Doorway, since it's SO talked about and I've heard such conflicting reviews about it. And it's so short. I'd like to form my own opinion on it lol.

I am extra excited to pick up The Girls given all the new drama around the author's ex-boyfriend's accusations of plagiarism.

I went ahead and looked through the books I've read this year and discovered at least two of them have won awards for this year. Sooo, I'd say I've completed the challenge. I may read something else that won an award this month but who knows? I still have 6 books to go to surpass last year's quota.

This was a lot of fun and I look forward to the challenges next year!

I just finished Bellevue Square which won the Giller prize. It was a mindfuck.

I'll probably read Salt to the Sea for this.

I'm planning on reading The Power for this month's challenge. It's been on To-Read list for a while so I'm happy it won an award.

Since my library has it, I'm going to read All the Birds in the Sky.

I wanted to make sure I completed the challenge, so I did Her Every Wish. A novella was a nice change of pace and I've heard a lot about Courtney Milan, but I felt like I never liked the hi-jinks her heroines got into in the summaries. I'm going to attempt another book but I needed to know it was out of the way. I might attempt Golden Hill and I can't remember who rec'd that in a post or Lincoln in the Bardo

Started Pigeon which won the Wales Book of the Year this year. It does have some Welsh phrasing in the book but nothing that can't be deciphered.

I picked up Into the Water which won Goodreads Choice Awards Best Mystery & Thriller... admittedly sort of a cop out but it peaked my interest.

I realized that I read a few award-winning books earlier in the year (The Fisherman, The Winter Box,If I Was Your Girl and The Ballad of Black Tom) but I'm not gonna count them lol. I put Every Heart a Doorway on hold at the library and I'll pick it up this week.

I read The Girls earlier this year but I'm not going to count it (and also it was garbage)
