Every moment is an opportunity for enlightenment. I think I will benefit by having more compassion, understanding and patience which will deepen my relationships with others, myself and the experience of this human life.
I think just by taking time and slowing down to enjoy the world around us is what I'll take from this book. And to not let the little things get me down, that I can only control so much in life and the things that cannot be controlled, I just say "oh well" and continue on.
For me, the main benefit will be in finding peace within more and more which will ripple out through relationships and all activities I engage in. Looking forward to going back next month to the Oneness University in India to do more of the same! The homework this week is really beneficial to keep the witness/observer consistently active! A great follow-on for those who want to deepen the work found in Tolle's book, is Awakening Into Oneness by Arjuna Ardagh.
For me, the most significant learning has been to stay in the present or now. I am an Executive Coach and I am in a frequent struggle with myself to keep my mind quiet to listen carefully to what is being said and what is driving what is being said. The ability to stay present allows me to get to a deeper understanding and ask better questions that result in my coachee have a more successful experience.

As a personal example, today as I was driving home after visiting my sisters family in Park City, I found that some concerns began to bubble up in my mind. I said a prayer, but I also began to breathe deeply as I said these words in my mind, "I breathe in and am filled with the wisdom of God. I breathe out the worry in my mind." I instantly began to notice the snow-covered mountains around me and truly gloried in their beauty and grandeur. Wonderful.
