A sort of kitchen for the ship

"Yeah. Turtle soup." Chester said, sitting on a barstool at a low counter. He wasn't tall, but the wooden surface came just barely to his waist when he sat, and thus made him feel like a giant. "It's surprisingly good with Paul's (the cook) biscuits." He handed Insidious a wooden bowl into which Paul had ladled some steaming, creamy broth.

Fox walked in with Chester and looked around. He knew this place by heart but he still liked to refresh his memory from time to time. Fox sat beside Chester, being a tall man the counter reached his hip when he sat. "Thank you." Fox said with a smile.

A potbelly stove stands on the wall opposite the door. A box fastened to the wall above serves as a shelf for the bowls, plates, and other such things, as well whatever spices Paul could buy at various ports. Spoons and utensils hang from hooks nearby. Herbs dangle from the ceiling overhead, filling one's nostrils with the scent of clove and garlic. A low wooden counter in the dead center of the room is the table, surrounded by barstools that don't all match. In the very corner of the room is a birdcage containing a vicious feathered reptile. ((It's an archeopteryx.))

"You're welcome." Chester ate slowly with his spoon, not saying much and waiting for Insidious to start a conversation.

Insidious Fox ate his soup before speaking after a few bites. "How long have you been here, Mr. Chester?" Fox asked curiously, eating once he had finished speaking. Fox was one to keep his manners, even as a pirate.

"It's been a few weeks. I served the Royal Navy for two years prior, which hasn't gotten me any popularity among the crew." He thought of Chara's death threats against him and her maniacal smile. It almost sent a shiver up his spine.

Insidious Fox nodded with a grave smile. "Well, if you ever need any assistance with this ruthless crew, you can come to me. Consider me your ally against any of your enemies." It was partially a lie but also partially true. Fox had gotten good at lying,

Chester considered his words in silence. That'd be nice. He thought, but wasn't sure whether to say this out loud for fear that it might make him seem insecure. Or at least more insecure than he obviously was.

Insidious Fox glanced over with a chuckle. "So? Do you like the Bloody Blades?" He asked humorously. Fox rather enjoyed this pirate crew. Their motives much like his. And it would be quite an achievement to be the captain of this ship....Quite a power boost.

Chester shrugged. "More to do than in the Navy, I guess, though I don't much care for the whole'blood' thing. I mean, why can't you guys be good wholesome Robin Hood-esque pirates, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor?"

Insidious Fox thought a moment. "Where is the fun in being a good, wholesome crew? Stealing from the rich and giving to the poor? What not just keep the money?" He countered, finishing his soup.

Chester sighed. "Right. Forgot who I was talking to." He pushed his empty bowl away and began to pick at what little was left of his biscuit. "So, what do you do with the money anyway? "

Insidious Fox chuckled. "We buy what need and by what we please, mainly that anyways." He said. Fox was becoming rather fond of this Chester man.

"I don't suppose you've got a secret cache hidden away on some long forgotten tropical island, just waiting for the right person to discover it then." He said in the same deadpan tone, but clearly joking.

Insidious Fox smiled. "I do actually. My little game I like to play with my earnings." He said with a laugh. "So far, no one has found it."

Chester nodded. As he'd expected, Fox wasn't bluffing. He very clearly had more money than he knew what to do with and none of it was legitimately his at all. "I see. So then why do you need more?"

Fox shrugged. "I'm careful." He answered. "Very..." Fox broke off as he glanced toward the stairs, hearing the sound of a collection of voices. "What's up with them now?" Fox mused aloud, wondering if someone would get maimed.

Chester shrugged and ran to go see what was happening.

((Sorry, I forgot Chester was here, and he's in the middle of a vampire attack now...))

Fox got up and followed.
