Wendy sat in the garden watching people walk around.
Ryan notices that only one of the other students around seems to be sitting and decides to take this opportunity to make some new friends at this school. "Hey, what sup?"
Wendy looked at the guy. She had never seen him before. "Hello."
"Sorry if I disturbed you, I'm a little new here and I'm not sure exactly where I'm supposed to go." He laughs as he rubs the back of his neck.
"Its fine. I'm alittle new here too." she said with a smile. "I'm Wendy."
She took his hand and shook it. "Nice to meet you Ryan." she said sweetly.
"What are you here to study for?" He asked curiously. He always felt that what someone was interested in somewhat defined who they were.
"Music and Writing." she answered. "Yourself?" she asked.
"I came here for advanced combat, a first aid procedure class, physics, psychology, anatomy, and forensics." He says, individualizing the textbooks under his arm.
"Wow that's intense." she said impressed.
He laughs. "Well, my grandpa's been hounding me to become a field agent, which doesn't sound half bad to me."
"True." she replied with a smile. "So what are you if I may ask?" she asked.
He hesitates. His grandfather had told him to stay low and out of trouble. He still wasn't sure if any normal kids went to the school, though he knew from some rumors of certain 'talented' students here. "W-what do you mean?"
"I'm a mermaid. So what are you?" she asked.
"That's cool." she said with a smile.
He leans in close to confirm his curiosities. "So wait, is this school only people with special "talents" or are there some kids here who would flip to see someone lift a car without touching it?"
"Alittle bit of both." she answered in a sweet siren like tone.
He shrugs. "Good enough for me. So what do you want to do? Seems like we've got a while before class."
"We all normally go to class whenever. I'm just sitting here watching people and the flowers." she told him. "You can choose something to do."
"Oh." He sat there for a few moments. Going to class whenever he liked? That sounded like a dream come true. Then a random curiosity of his new friend passed his mind. "I'm sorry to ask, but is there anything special about you apart from being a mermaid? Which is totally awesome, by the way." He didn't want to sound unimpressed if not.
"Depends on what you mean?" she asked. "I mean I can do somethings other mermaids can't do but not much." she told him.
He hadn't thought about what other mermaids may be capable of. All he had guessed were their siren calls and swimming with a fish tail. "Would you... care to explain?" He asked, not wanting to sound disrespectful or unknowledgable.
"Mermaids and sirens are different creatures." she said hearing his thoughts.
"Its alright. Its just some people do get us mixed up because we both can sing. Though only one of us are evil and only one of us have fish tails." she said.
She laughed. "What would you like to do before class?" she asked.
He looks at his books. "Well, I would say study, but I already looked through all of these twice last night and on the way here." He tries to think of something, but nothing comes to mind. Everything around is so new and unfamiliar.
"How about we just walk around the garden?" she suggested.
She smiles taking his hand. "Thank you."
She smiled and let go of his hand leading him into the garden.
"So what do you like to do for fun?" she asked him making conversation.
"Well, I enjoy studying and keeping in shape. But it's also fun just to mess with people every now and then, just small time pranks." He laughs, remembering some of his older schools.
"I pull pranks on my sister all the time." she told him with a smile. He was cute and seemed nice.
"Being a mermaid is a family thing, not a mutation, right?" He asks to be certain, since she'd mentioned her family now.
"Family." she told him. "What about you do you have any siblings?"
"Mah." He says blandly, looking up at the clouds. "My parents were a little freaked out by me." He laughs
"Why is that?" she asked sweetly. "I mean I don't see anything wrong with you."
