I learned this one in high school. They are little work, but worth it. Good one for the kids to help with.
CINNAMON PUFFS
1 loaf sandwich bread (I use Homepride white or wheat)
FILLING:
1 8 oz. pkg. of cream cheese (yes, you can go low-fat or fat-free)
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 TBLSP. sugar
TOPPING:
1 stick of butter, melted and cooled
1 TBLSP. cinnamon mixed with 1/2 c. sugar
Cut the crust off of the bread. Roll each slice flat. Mix the filling and then spread about 1 tsp. of the filling on each slice. (You may add more if you have leftover) Roll each slice jelly roll style and place on cookie sheet. Freeze 15 min., then slice each roll into 3 pieces.
Place slices on cookie sheet and bake for 15 min. at 350. Serve warm.
