Milkweed:

There is a kid who’s running away. His name is ‘stop thief’ and he doesn't remember his past. He got his name by everybody saying ‘STOP THIEF!’. Just as usual, he is stealing a food and met a boy. The boy’s name is Uri. Uri is about 15 years old. Uri is in a group of boys. The boys don’t have any parents or anybody. Uri changed stop thief's name to Misha Pilsudski. Misha meets Janina who is a girl, Doctor Korczak, who works in orphanage helping the orphans, Jackboots, who kills people and has a pointy, long boots. The timeline was world war 2 and all of the jews had to live in a ghetto. Janina and groups of boys, and orphans were all jews. They had a parade into the ghetto so Misha really had follow them to ghetto although he doesn't know if he’s a jewish or not. Life in the ghetto was just same as before but few weeks later, it started to look poor. Luckily, Mischa was tiny and there was two brick whole on the wall. Misha barely had went through it and got some food from it when there wasn’t any in ghetto. When all people in ghetto had to go to the concentration camp, Uri shoot him on the ear and made him look like dead person and Misha’s ear was gone. He went to America and found a job and married with a wife. He named everything, even a mice Janina if he could. This book is best you could find if you’re wanting to see the life in ghetto. This book is the best because this has a lot of humor, details, and very educative if you’re learning about history. You can see how does the world looks like in a 5 year old kid’s view.
