A Tale Dark And Grim may just sound like a cute little book about fairy tales and little Hansel and Gretel running around having adventures, but they run into many challenges some are very gruesome, for example. Their dad tries to kill them, and they have an encounter with the devil
The conflict of the book varies from each chapter, for example they go on many adventures like they find a house made of candy in the middle of the forest and it turns out there is a witch in the house that tries to trap kids and get them fat and eat them. Another one of their adventures Gretel thinks she finds the love of her life so they start talking and then one day she decides to go to his house and see him but it turns out he has done this before he just gets girls to fall in love with him then he brings them to his house and cooks them and eats them!
Characters are Hansel and Gretel who are the children of a king, their father tries to kill them early on in the book so he can live for eternity. That scares them pretty bad so they decide to leave and when they face problems they always stay together and you can tell that they get along very well.
I really enjoyed this book I have read it many times and each time i enjoy it more and more. It is a really fun book because it has action and adventure but it is also has a really good story and good character, they all have good back stories also. Some parts of the book are really dark and kinda weird but that adds a good little spooky touch to the book
