Seeing any good shows lately? Are you an actor/actress, a dancer, a singer? Working tech for a show? Let us know about your experiences working in live theatre, this can include a high school production to if your lucky enough to have seen a show on Broadway.

I'm a huge Shakespeare nerd and last year I went to see my first ever live production at the Globe theatre in London. Since then I've really developed a love for live performances - there's something really engaging about having real people acting literally a few metres away from you. Anything could happen! Actually during the first play I ever went to see, a pigeon flew in through the Globe's open top and for a few minutes everyone was just watching it fly around trying to get out instead of paying attention to the play. So funny!
It's kind of on my Bucket List to act in a Shakespeare play one day. I don't necessarily agree with the commonly thrown around phrase "You haven't experienced Shakespeare until you've seen it performed", but I do think seeing the characters and prose acted out in front of you takes the experience to a new level, and I've really enjoyed the three productions I've now seen. I have to admit I pretend I'm on stage when reading the plays aloud to myself and would love to do it for real. I don't really want to be an actress or anything though - just a small, informal thing would do for me. Maybe when I'm at university or something I can get involved in a drama club.
Sorry this comment was so Shakespeare-obsessive - in general I find the performing arts really fascinating. Having left school before I was really old enough to appreciate being in a school play, I quite enjoy reading about them. If anyone has any recommendations for books about putting on a school play, I'm all ears!

I'm a big Shakespeare fan too Daisy, except I've never seen one of his play performed.
I recently saw a production of Joseph and the Amazing Technical Dream Coat.

Oh, cool! What's your favourite of his plays?
I went to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat years ago with my aunt. All I remember about it was that we were near the front and Joseph spat on us while he was singing. :D Did you enjoy it?
