Medusa Redden How large are griffins if they can be ridden by a person? I'm looking for a logic based answer. I couldn't find any good sources to answer this question.

So, the heaviest flying creature is thought to be the Quetzalcoatlus, the largest creature to have ever flown. it was a dinosaur. It is thought to have weighed between 200 to 400 pounds. It had a wing span of over 40 feet. So the Griffin or Gryphon would have to be at least that big.

Medusa Redden Thanks! How much weight do you suppose they could carry? Probably not a full grown man in armor. I suppose Griffin riders would be the same size a horse jocks.

Hard to say. Since they are magical creatures I would say magic may be involved. ; )

Medusa Redden Fair enough, I was thinking of them as mythical creatures rather than magical.

It really depends on the perspective, in my opinion of course. If the griffin is ridden, then I would call that fantasy instead of mythological and that's when we start getting into the world of magic. Again, that's just my opinion and one needs to just take it with a grain of salt,

Medusa Redden I shall take your salt into consideration.
