Lucy is, first and foremost, a businesswoman. She had to make Con put the client first, but she has great sympathy for Lizzie and Con's conflict. With Con's past, her concerns were not groundless. Lucy had to work some real magic to satisfy the customer and do the right thing for Lizzie.
Lucy annoyed me in this book. Yes, she had to convince Con that they had to do the job for their client. That's what their whole organization is about. But she could have told Con up front that they would sort out the whole mess when they recovered the treasure.
Lucy totally annoyed me. She has no problem bending the rules and putting the needs of the client aside when it suits her (in her own book for instance). Her attitude toward Con was nothing short of disgraceful and Con did nothing to warrant it.
