Yay its great you guys enjoyed it and I think I'll join in for this one since its been on my shelf for a while and I've been wanting to continue the story
Definitely in! The first one definitely had enough potential so I'm hoping the series really takes off with the second.
I can see it taking off Seán! We already know and love the characters so the hard work is done, let the journey commence!!
As it turns out, I don't know if I can join you for this one. I went to the bookstore and they don't sell it in Canada, so I'd have to order it overseas, and then get it shipped here. Which will take 2-3 weeks.
It's on my kindle and ready to go. I'm probably going to start as soon as I'm done with Oathbringer, which should be this weekend.
I finished Steeplejack last night at work, so I'm going to start this tonight...
SOME PEOPLE need to hurry up with their Well of Ascension read and get over here :)...
In the meantime I'll just be reading on ahead a day early, I guess...

You're too fast a reader to have a two day head start! Totally unfair. XD
It's either start early or late... I tend to prefer to possibly be ahead than lagging behind... and I've got 4 buddy reads starting between now and the 5th...

How's it going Iain? Did you make a start?I'm excited to start this, loved the Blade Itself so much!
I'll be a little late. The Kay Squad just decided to up the read of the second book of Fionavar from next month to tomorrow so I'll be reading that first. Because that series is unbeliavably good and book 1 ended in a sort of cliffhanger. I'm also in the BRs for War of the Flowers and Leviathan Wakes and these are already more than I can juggle at 1 time.
Sounds like you are ridiculously busy Laura! Don't worry about being late, I think I will be too. But I hope you do get to it eventually, was so fun reading book 1 with you! :)
Give me till the 30th sweety. I'll start this one then. And if I may be so bold to ask... Please be late with me. :D
I started it at work last night... got 2-3hrs read so far... about 10% in I guess...
They time jumped a little, I think... a lot of the places people were heading to at the end of the last book, they're arriving at already in the 2nd book (view spoiler)
Glokta puts a smile on my face... pretty much no matter what he's doing...

You're gonna finish it before we get to start Iain. At least we'll get to know if it's great. :)As a side note: You should really read the Fionavar Tapestry! (if you haven't already I mean).

Aw man I'm not a big fan of the old time jump, but I shall reserve judgement. I'm glad Glokta is making you smile Iain xD I love him!
One day I would like to join the Kay squad, they seem like the coolest kids 😎The only one I own is something about Lions?
We are pretty cool. Check out our Summer Tree thread also. We even have pictures and Gifs in our posts. :D And we're currently debating if a mug of mead or a cup of hot chocolate goes best with a great bard's storytelling. Cause that's Kay!!!!

Just started this morning! Loved the opening two chapters and the combination of characters that we're getting - looks like it's going to be fun times! Also, just swapping over to this from some Wheel of Time, it's crazy how much my reading pace increases. I'm hoping to make short work of this one!
Yea... I love this world and these characters... I didn't get any reading done at work last night... sigh... everything was just conspiring against me...
Are we planning to continue with the standalones of these once we finish the trilogy?... I wouldn't mind taking a break after the trilogy... until say March 27th or April... I'm pretty booked through the beginning of 2018 with all the new buddy reads starting then...

Yeah the first few months of next year seem packed, so I'm happy to wait till April to get going. I already have the standalones on my shelf, so I'll definitely commit to reading them!
Apparently some people don't like the standalones like they do the main trilogy, but I plan to at least continue with the first standalone... I like so much about these first books, not just 1 character/POV...
Too bad the new trilogy isn't starting until 2019... woulda been cool if this all timed up to read right into the start of the new trilogy... but I guess we'll have to wait a year once we run out of books...

I want to continue with the standalones Iain, and fine to take a break until March/April. Should we get them scheduled so we know not to agree to other stuff then?
I'm liking this one so far... Glokta feels like the focus of this one... altho I guess he was the focus of the last one, too...
He gets to investigate things and now deal with city management, while the other characters spend most of their time traveling around or waiting for the battles that have to come eventually...

Anni wrote: "Hey Iain, could you conjure such a clever chapter list again? It was very helpful :)"Haha what would we do without him? :)
Anytime from March is grand with me, so April 27th works no bother.Glokta definitely getting a lot of attention here, which is fine - other chapters seem to mix up perspectives, but his chapters are all him. Totally cool with that though, there seems to be a colourful cast for him to deal with so there's plenty of entertainment.

Library of Congress wasn't very helpful this time... so I made a list myself... Voila:

Thank you very much Iain! Sorry for the extra work, I could heave done it myself. I couldn't find it on this website as well, but thought it was me being confused :D
Over halfway done already... Just finished Chapter 33 Furious and started Chapter 34 To the Last Man
(view spoiler)
It's probably a good thing the people who didn't care for Glokta quit during/after book 1... he really seems to be the focus of this trilogy, for all there are 4-5 actual POVs...
