I hate werewolves. They're so irrational and ruled by emotion.

I know. They think they are so great because they can smell and run. Well, we can do that too.

I hate vampires too, though. They're all so... Full of it. And snobby. Humans suck too. They're so weak and pathetic.

Plato told me he wished I was dead. If that isn't hate, I don't know what is. I told him I was sorry. He said I didn't mean it.

Ha. You won't kill a werewolf by just sharpening a knife. You need to also be able to move as fast or faster than them.

Mercury sighs. "You're the only idiot around here. Why do you have a knife? Are you so doubtful of your own abilities that you need outside objects to give you a false sense of security?"

"Yeah. But, a sharpened knife can't kill a werewolf by itself. It needs a good wielder. Like us vampires.

"They kill everything. Except us." Mercury swirls his straw around in his drink. "This blood is cold. Gross."

"I guess, I prefer my sword. It cuts through them like scissors and paper. The results are fun to watch too."

"I know someone who used a gun. It was crazy. Another guy I knew used a bow and arrow. He was a really good marksman. He ran off with the guy with the gun." Mercury takes a sip of blood and makes a disgusted face. "Ew. Is this vampire blood?"

"You think I was born yesterday, don't you," he says coldy. "I was born a vampire."

"It's a phrase. Humans use it." He coughed. "Humans are so stupid. I can play with them like puppets."

"So very stupid... I loved my brother more than anything in the world. I would have given my life for him. I almost did. But I failed to protect him. And even though I apologized, he still hates me. Werewolves and humans, both so dumb."

“Yeah,” Mercury says with a sigh. “You’re really not that bad. You don’t freak out like most vampires... Everyone is so dramatic these days. It’s tiring.”

Mercury smiles coldly. "I'd have to agree with you there."

"Indeed. I miss being able to freely drink from humans without all the mess of getting involved with the police."

Mercury nods with her. "Drinking cold blood has gotten old."

"I know, right? It's revolting." Mercury leans back in his chair and props his feet up on the table.

He gives an equally rare and approving smile. "I was about to say the same thing to you."

"You won't have that problem with me. I killed off all petty emotions a long time ago..."

"I know," he said. "The only problem is my bothersome brother. He's the only one who can even get a bit of sadness from me. But that's almost gone too, and he's probably too stupid to even try and use that against me."

"Yeah, I guess..." Mercury says. "But I could probably manipulate him if I keep him alive..."

"It would be much more fun to kill him when he thinks I love him," Mercury says coldly, almost sadistically.

"Thanks," he says. "Like you too."

"Yeah. We could set up a trap."

Mercury chuckles. "That would be fun..."Some disturbing scenario played out in his head and he smiles.
