I have noticed that there is a lot of information on this topic over the internet but mostly misinformed. I am currently studying this topic using predominantly scholarly research. Even in academia there appears to be a lack of studies with significant statistical power or methodology. I will post my findings and lists of significant publications. I would love to have any comments or discussions.

Yes it is. TcMS essentially stuns areas of the brain under treatment. TcDS elevates the resting potential of neurons under the cathode. Thus when underlying neural activity occurs, the neurons are more likely to fire augmenting the process. Note when I use stun it is not meant as a criticism
