Hi! My name is Bonnie. I'm from Mount Vernon, IA, but currently live in Champaign. I like to read a variety of books, but for leisure reading will stray toward fantastical fiction, novels incorporating mystical realism, or any work by Jane Austen. I'm part of the founding group for Rad Reads, but was drawn toward this group because it fits well with my busy schedule. Other things you should know about me are I am tracking toward becoming an academic librarian, and I love tootsie rolls.
Hi. I'm Susan and I'm living in Northbrook. I too am studying to be a librarian and looking for a job now.
I like to read fiction, particularly classics, books by Japanese authors, mysteries, children's books, plays, biographies and nonfiction.
I'm joining this group because I love discussing books, but it's hard to find time to meet with a traditional group.
You should know that I like photography and dabbling in technology. I like learning languages and which I had a lot more time in a given day to do all the things I'd like to.

Hello, I'm Erich. I read just about anything. Fiction, poetry, non fiction, the ingredients lists on products. I'm a fiction writer and a poet. I, too, am studying library science. I work at Brookens Library at the University of Illinois Springfield.
I watch a lot of movies, a lot of tv, and yeah I watch a lot of stuff. And like Susan, I wish I had more time in the day and I wish that I didn't like sleep so much.

Welcome Kay,
Just thought I'd tell you that in 2018 our first book will be sci-fi. It's Wool by Hugh Howey.

Hi Everyone! My name is Matt, and I'm a LEEP student. My focus is on public libraries and I'd like to eventually find my way into academic libraries, as I have another graduate degree in philosophy. I currently work at the Skokie Public Library as the assistant bookmobile librarian. I've been at SPL for 12 years. I live in Chicago.
I read very broadly (probably too broadly): history, philosophy, politics, and fiction. Within fiction, I most prefer sci-fi, fantasy, westerns, and "literary" fiction. I joined this book club because I really like the idea of discussing books with others, but I've never been able to make a book club work with my schedule, etc. So hopefully the asynchronous nature of this group helps. If not, I'll duck out, as I don't want to be dead weight, lol!
Welcome, Matt. Like you, I've got a wide range of interests and I've got a schedule that can be too full for another activity at a set time.
Thank you for helping us launch this program.

Hi all,
I'm hoping we can get our discussion started between eating Thanksgiving leftovers, shopping or catching up on our homework.
