Okay, so, long story short, I want to give someone very dear to me a book about Elvish. The thing is, I know nothing of LotR/Middle Earth etc. whatsoever, which is why I need the help of all you experts out there... I know he'd like to learn Elvish... so, what book do you think would be best for this/him? Again, sorry if this all comes across as ignorant, I really have no idea. Any advice is appreciated!

If you want to give a book about the languages you could give to this person Pedin Edhellen: a Sindarin Course and Quenya Course.
I haven't read this myself, but I believe David Salo was a consultant on the LOTR films, and the book has high ratings on Goodreads: A Gateway to Sindarin: A Grammar of an Elvish Language from JRR Tolkien's Lord of the Rings
