So the first round starts in a couple days. Do you ladies want to get planning on what task(s) we want to do?

Since there are only four on our team, one of us will need to read a second book and then there is also the bonus book which one of us could try and complete. (BP #1 (Round One): Read a book with a BASKET or CORNUCOPIA on its cover or in its text.)

I can do #2. Thanks-giving (November 23). Currently trying to get this book read and it has GRATEFUL in the text.

These are the books I'm currently reading...

All This Time by Melissa Tagg, which would work for the task with letters of manger. This one will work for Task 5 "Winter Beverages"/ hot coffee; Task 8 "Winter Garmets"/scarf; Task 21: Away in a Manger/ Begins with A. Doesn't net the bonus point though. Or Task 30 - Happy New Year/page count 218. It might also work for the Bonus Point for this round of Basket. Can't search it on my phone.

How to Find Love in a Bookshop. it'll also work for the one with hot tea.

I'm going to do All This Time and Task 30 Happy New Year. I'll check to see if it also has the Bonus Point of Basket.

I'm gonna check out the list and see what I can do. :D I will probably be able to do a couple of the extra books since I read a lot. I just need a moment to read the list and see what my tasks will be.

I can also do #1 Fall colors Red/Yellow/Orange/Brown. I am reading "Thou givest, They gather" by Amy Carmichael, and the cover is orange.

All this time will give us the bonus point for this round. Location 1045 "You've got artist written all over you, even down to the way you decorated that basket with flowers on that turquoise bike you're always riding around..."

The first round ends the 28th at the end of day (pacific time). I will make a countdown clock once the rounds starts, so that there is no confusion. :)

And (just to make sure I fully understand this), we each have to read at least one book that falls under one of the topics in each round?

I put a question mark by the bonus book, since it is for an extra book and I'm not sure if you planned on using All This Time for a task or for the bonus book, Dawn. Let me know and I'll edit this comment. :))

I'm about 30% done with my book. I'm trying to get some reading done today...we shall see.

Yes Dawn, the extra bonus point task for each round requires reading a book different from the five books read for the primary tasks.

Since I'm joining late, is it okay to start with round 2? It seems like you have the 5 books needed for round 1. I can get started on the hunt for round 2....

OK... found a book that's not too long. The Christmas Angel will do task #15 O Christmas Tree... There's a Christmas tree on the cover and throughout the text...

Got our bonus point book in.

I will admit my technology deficiency early on... I'm not sure how to get pic of book to post in our review thread, or the link to the review. Help now - before the deadline? How do I do those 2 things. Sorry....i'm a reader, not a technology expert...

Here's how I do it (from a computer, not my phone):
Link -
1. Publish/post the review.
2. Open a new tab/window (I typically will right click on the home word of my Goodreads tab and select the option that reads open link in new tab.)
3. I have two tabs open now.
4. On the tab that isn't my review, I will click on Community, and then find the group, the thread I need.
5. On the thread for the review, I will start to type my comments.
6. Click on the tab with your review.
7. Click in the address bar to make sure the entire address is selected. Either right click --> copy OR do a Ctrl + C (keyboard shortcut for copy)
8. Back to the post you're writing.
9. Click where you want the link added - example line reads Review Link:
10. Then either right click --> paste OR do a Ctrl + V (keyboard shortcut to paste)


To add the book cover:
1. At the top of the comment box, there is a hyperlink that says "add book/author" .
2. Click on that. A pop up will open.
3. You can search for book or author there.
4. Click on the button near the bottom that says "add: link (which is selected by default) or cover).
5. Click the book you want to add.


I hope this helps and makes some sense.

I created a Google Spreadsheet so that we can track the tasks.

When you have finished your task for the round, please highlight it.

Also, beginning with Round 2, I'll update the spreadsheet with who has claimed what task.

How's everyone doing on books for the first round? Remember to have reviews posted before 12 am Wednesday morning to have it count for the first round.

2nd round starts Wednesday. I've got several books that may work for the categories.

I'm almost done with my book. I will either finish it for round one or hold off and finish it for round two if the others post their books soon. :))

And, I realized my book will work for 21: Away in a Manger and will earn the bonus point for being published in December! Yay!!

Dawn, I love your spreadsheet, but it wouldn't let me highlight my book. I have a Mac and I always wonder if it just works differently than most other computers, cause I tried everything I could find and letting me highlight was not happening. SORRY!!! I did finish my book so if you can highlight it for me - great!

I posted my book and with that I think we have the first round finished! Phew. Just in time. :))

So the only SET task for round two is the bonus book. Anyone have a book with a wreath on the cover that they feel like reading? I can always look and see what I have. :))

I'm going to read for 7: Baby, It's Cold Outside.

So, quick questions I'm not sure about. Are we aloud to read more than one book (complete more than one task) each person per round? Or are we only aloud to do one task, and then a bonus point?

It doesn't matter how many a person completes in a round, but as a team we can only complete five tasks plus the bonus task for the round.

So since there are four of us (or five if our missing teammate comes back), we should each read one task and then we have one plus the bonus left to decide on.

Hope that makes sense. It's hard to explain on mobile. :/

Ah, that makes sense. So technically someone can read three books, but then only two others can read books?

Yep. That is why communication is key. If someone is struggling with completing their book or something, then someone else knows that they can step up and help. :))

My current read will fit the Blue Christmas task.

I can look and see what I have for the bonus task. Remember that the Love Inspired books have wreaths on the covers at Christmas. At least the historicals do.

Dawn, oooh! They do! I should have several options then for wreath on cover. I'm fine with taking that one, if no one else wants it.
