Crack the Spine discussion

Oh, this book is getting really good now. I think Laura may be on the autism spectrum. The way she takes everything literally and doesn't understand sarcasm. She has no idea that it would be considered bad to hang out with a boy everywhere. Also she doesn't seem to understand what social norms are at the Christian school. she just says what she thinks instead of thinking how the average Christian would think. Am I way off base in my thinking here? Just little hints here and there just got my spidey senses tingling as a special needs paraprofessional.
