Hilary (A Wytch's Book Review) (knyttwytch) | 36 comments Does anyone here work with Runes? If so do you have a good starter book recommendation? I want to start incorporating Runework into my daily routine and have no idea where to start!

Adam Reed | 4 comments I've been reading "Nordic Runes" by Paul Rhys Mountfort. it's been one of the best. I'd stay away from anything written by Blum. it's all crap and newage nonsense. Also Edred Thorsson is a great author. very knowledgeable.

Hilary (A Wytch's Book Review) (knyttwytch) | 36 comments Thank you Adam!

bookstar cranesinger (goodreadscomingvenning) | 4 comments I also highly recommend Mountfort's book, as well as Taking Up the Runes by Paxson.

Emma | 2 comments I'd recommend "Northern Mysteries and Magick" by Freya Aswynn which offer a rather different, if not slightly unconventional view on runes.

Hilary (A Wytch's Book Review) (knyttwytch) | 36 comments I was given Nordic Runes: Understanding, Casting, and Interpreting the Ancient Viking Oracle Nordic Runes Understanding, Casting, and Interpreting the Ancient Viking Oracle by Paul Rhys Mountfort so I am currently working my way through that - and yes it does seem a good reference book!

Someone gave me that book a few years ago and I never bothered to open it up, haha. Glancing through now, it seems pretty well researched will no obvious warning bells (and a google search doesn't pull up anything bad in connection to the author.) Glad to see you're liking it.

Natasha 4E I liked the Complete Illustrated Guide to Runes by Nigel Pennick.
I recommend making your own runes.

Hilary (A Wytch's Book Review) (knyttwytch) | 36 comments Hmm I wish I could make my own but my hands won't let me :(

Joseph “Millennium Man” (millenniumman) | 70 comments I was successful with the mechanical part -I tried drawing the symbols on pennies with a paint pen.
