Bitter Grounds discussion

As i read this book I could picture the guardia taking the children and killing the grandma. This made me feel sad because that's pretty harsh to take someones children. So far in the book I am learning who the important charictors are and what they will end up doing as the book goes on I think that the rest of the family is going to do anything they can to get the baby back.
The author was trying to tell the reader how uncivilized El salvador was back in the day. I think its written in this point of view because she also wants to catch the readers attention. I also think the author does a great job of telling the story because you can really picture what you read the text is very detailed.
This book reminds me of when I took something from someone and they have came back to me and did me worse. If i was the mom in the book I would do anything to get my baby back.
