*A red haired young woman dressed in loose leather breeches, a cotton shirt and leather tunic and tall boots, enters and ordering a tankard of ale and a bowl of stew, goes to sit at a table in the dark back corner.*

A young man with wind blown black hair and a leather tunic plunks down next to her a second later a tankard in his hands. He smiles at her. "Hey, Gabi, remember me? And before you try to kill me, you just gotta know that stealing that relic was nothing personal. the other Shadow Sisters were paying me a hefty sum for it. I hope we can continue being friends, or in the very least mutual acquaintances. I know you would prefer lover, but I prefer to remain single just a little longer."

Outside the wind howls and the rain pelts the thatch roof of the inn.

*Gabi is taking a drink of ale when the obnoxious man plunks down beside her. Dropping her mug her hand flashes to her dagger and it is pricking between the 3rd and 4th ribs before he can hardly blink* "Idiot!" she hisses, "Don't you know better than to speak about that in public!"

He smirks and moves her hand away, "Not so hard, Love, you might make me bleed, and I know you wouldn't want that to happen."

She scoffs. "You never know, you haven't seen me for 6 months, maybe I've given my heart to another and it would be a pleasure to see you bleed."

Ryder leans back and smiles lazily at her. "How could you have given your heart to another, when you left it with me?"

He leaned forward and swiped her loaf of bread from her stew and bit into. "Interesting thing happened today. I met your sister. Of course she denied it but you look just alike."

She sticks her tongue out at his first comment and raises her eyebrows at the second. "What, you mean that chicken hearted ninny, Erudessa? A half baked excuse for a rebel. So she denied that we were sisters? Father and I did disown her, so she probably has convinced her self she was telling the truth."

Ryder shrugs. "Probably, she was all over me, you know. It was quite dastardly how she didn't even try to keep her hands to herself. You know she tried to use that trick that you already taught me while I was infiltrating the Inner Circle on me."

((THAT LYING FILTHY SKUNK!!!!!!!!!))

*she raises her eyebrows* "Now that's odd, normally she sticks her nose in the air a pretends men don't exist! And if you're speaking of the Slide Kick, I seem to recall you learning that because I used it on you, not that I taught it too you!"

Ryder shrugs. "You used it on me because you were trying to teach it to me. And as for her indifference toward men... well, you know how women cannot resist my charm for long."

((I REALLY HATE THIS GUY!))

*Gabi smiles indulgently, but there is a little pout in her eyes* "I hope you don't go falling for her," she says.

(He's totally awful!! It's amazing Nicki!)

(he's egotistical, I don't know if he's so much a jerk because he actually believes everything he says)

Ryder flicks her braid and winks. "I never try to become too attached to one woman. That then makes the playing field too even because I may- of the horrors- begin feeling for them what they are doomed to feel for me. And there's no knowing what might happen then."

"Hmmm. well, the rain is stopping so I'm going to go. See you 'round." And slinging her short cloak around her shoulders, she gets up and walks to the bar to pay for her meal.
