I've read two of these already - not really sure if I want to read Don Quixote or Moby-Dick though :(
July wrote: "Brianna, wonderful! Should we start the New Year with it?"The New Year is fine with me! I'm anticipating reading it on the slower/paced out side of things - kind of in conjunction with other reads. Would that be alright?
I’ll join you for new year Moby Dick. It’s on my list too. Why not kick off the year with a classic!
okay! I'm so exicted! What I have right now is Katie, Jessika, Brianna and I starting _Moby Dick_ with the new year. Jessika, if all these are on your list, you pick the next one to tackle, say around March/ April?
Margaret, we can catch up with you in July for _Don Quixote_.
Does that sound reasonable for everyone?
For myself, with any of these books, I have a 200 page minimum before I "tap out." You are welcome to set those thresholds where you are most comfortable. They are heavy reads, and if you can't plow through, don't.
We are all climbing mountains here, so work at your own pace. if you can't make the next book, then don't worry! Catch up when you can, and that'll be enough.
Should I start a separate thread for the _Moby Dick_ read starting Jan 1?
Thank you all for joining me on my heavy reads for my 2018 climb!
=) July

Read at your own pace and however you are most comfortable. I read super fast... just a quirk of my brain. We'll just catch up where we're at and things will work out fine. No worries and no rush.
If you're reading Don Quixote, I'm interested- it's been on my shelf for at least 5 years and I still haven't picked it up. What date in July are you planning to start and over what period?
I'm definetely joining in the Jane Eyre read! It's been on my TBR for a while and a friend of mine LOVES it and she's always encouraging me to read it.

Wonderful! Thank you everyone for joining me on my Heavy reads this year!!!So, here's what I've got:
January 1: Moby Dick
April 1: Jane Eyre
July 1: Don Quixote
and then for anyone who's still with me
September 1: Wind in the Willows
I'll start a new thread for Moby Dick soon, and I'll start the other threads for the other reads as we get closer to those start dates.
We all read at different paces and along with lots of other books, so if we all make a deal to check in at least once a week to say what we're thinking about the books and where we are, that'll be good.
Hey, July! ::HUGS::, my friend. :) Have you read Jane Eyre before, or is this your first time? I love it to bits.July wrote: "Hi- Would any one like to join me on some of my heavy reads?

I agree re Jane Eyre- it's a wonderful read and for me gets better each time.

Will definitely join for Moby Dick. So glad to read it as a group!
I might join you for Don Quixote. It's been on my ereader for quite a while and reading it with a group makes it seem a lot less daunting!Jane Eyre is so great imo, but I am never going to reread Moby Dick.
I'll join you for The wind and the willows and moby dick, i know i definitely own those in physical form.

Then we'll see you July 1st to read DON QUIXOTE. Keep an eye out for the new thread. =)
These are all on my read or reread lists, so I'm going to try and join in if that's okay - I'll be reading other things alongside though so it might take me forever to read Moby Dick! I might use the Serial Reader app for it, even.
Wonderful! Jo, there is a post up above with the projected start dates for anyone who wants to join my Heavy Reads with me this year. There'll be separate threads for each book.
How I never heard of the serial reader app before!! This is amazing, thanks Jo! With this discover I’m back in for Moby but will be taking my time with the app :)
Wind in the Willows was my grandfather's favorite book and I'd love to read it again. It's been a while.
Teresa wrote: "Wind in the Willows was my grandfather's favorite book and I'd love to read it again. It's been a while."Hi. We are looking to start Sept. 1. It will be wonderful to have you along.

Jane Eyre, Charlotte Brontë
Don Quixote, Miguel De Cervantes
Moby-Dick, Herman Melville
The Wind in the Willows, by Kenneth Grahame
They are off the list "Waterstone's 50 Books to Read Before You Die" a list I've been working on for almost ten years.
If one of these is on your mountain, let me know and we can coordinate together!
