I didn't really like the relationship ending between Magnus and Alex. While I know that Alex shouldn't completely change, I did want Alex to be more open about their feelings for Magnus. I was extremely unsatisfied with how they came to terms with their relationship. Alex was just really cold about the relationship and Magnus put himself out there. Thoughts? Agree? Disagree? Not sure? NEED MORE?

I really didn't get their relationship at all. I didn't feel like Alex was that loving? It felt superficial to me. I'd rather there be no romance.

I kinda relate. I feel like if he wanted to add the romance he should have extended into 5 books, for more time to integrate and show it.

Okay, here is why I liked their relationship.

It's sensible.

They are going to live for hundreds of years, to have a relationship go well for that long they are going to have to go slow, and not jump into the "I will love you forever" promise since they've only known each other for what...2 months(?).

Now Magnus did confess pretty early, and I think it is very good of him not to push Alex (again they will see each other around for hundreds of years) into making a decision.

Alex would not think kindly on any type of pressure, and s/he obviously cares for Magnus, but trust is not something s/he can give easily. Just look at the few glimpses we've had of her/his past and family.

A lot of the best relationship are the ones that take it slow, and they got all the time to do so. Riordan just can't cover that time in 3 books.

What I really like about the relationship between Magnus and Alex is that they get each other and don't need to show a bunch of lovey-dovey affection to be together. I like the way they are with each other and I agree with Kate about the time thing - they have a lot of time on their hands to really explore their relationship and I don't need to know every single detail to know it's there and strong.

However, I do think Mr. Riordan ought to steer clear of romance as it definitely is not his forte.

Having recently finished the series for a second time, I agree that the romance between Alex and Magnus did not work. They should just be friends. Alex does not have enough warmth nor does (s)he know what (s)he wants. Alex will break Magnus’ heart.

I thinks the same as most of you.its not his strong fort but look how he got on with the romance between Percy and annabeth or Jason and Piper or leo and calypso

i was upset that fierrochase wasn't cannon sooner, even if the first time they met alex cut off his head with a garotte wire
